Haye vs Wlad - What would Roach say?

Considering Haye (allowing blind patriotism and the hope of a few gullible Hatton fans following his journey) had the following to say about the outcome of the Pacman fight:

Basically he is saying (for the second time, the first being the PBF fight): a good big 'un will always beat a good little 'un

Then I really think Roach doesn't gives a ****.

 

Vlad is a quick fighter, has speed and defense. Haye's punches are wide, he lunges and is off balance.

 

Speed alone doesn't kill. In addition to speed, Pac had the following advantages over Hatton: He is the more talented boxer, he punches harder, he is a southpaw, has a much more disciplined lifestyle, has the better coach. Haye will have none of these advantages over Wlad.

On tv, the Klits look slow, because they are very tall. Herbie Hide was supposed to outspeed Vitaly, Iggy was supposed to trouble Wlad with his speed. It remains to be seen if Haye's speed and movement will be effective against Wlad.

 

I think Haye is on the same level as Jeremy Williams was at his bets. Still won't be good enough though.

 

Haye does have good speed, but will always get tagged. Knocked down by Mormeck, Barrett and cut by Maccarinelli. Unless he jumps straight on Wlad and hurts him early, its hard seeing him win.

 

Wlad's not going to be weight drained or over-aggressive...so there goes most of Roach's strategy. :hat

I'm just having fun, :think, considering Roach's track record he will very much approve of Haye's speed and power moving up considering Haye's condition, but I think Roach will have doubts about Haye as a complete offensive/defensive package.
I think Roach is the perfect coach for Haye. Haye is good now but Roach could make him into a beast. :deal

 

I've only heard Roach praise Wladimir in interviews... He's only had good things to say about his training and technique. They are also good friends.. No way Roach favors Haye.

 

I'm sure he will be asked as the fight gets close.

 

Nice comparison...Williams had better skills but Haye has a stronger punch.

Too many people confuse **** talking with fighting ability. Haye is going down and is going down hard in this one.

 

Roach would say Haye's superior jab and defense will be the difference in the fight.

 

Roach has a right, difference in jab and defense wil make the fight, because

Wlad's jab & defense >>> Haey's jab & defense

 

he would probably take the fighter with the better Chin and power. Which is Wlad.

 

That is debateable! Yeah, Klitschko is the natural HW. But Haye was a murderous puncher at Cruiserweight and has carried all his power up to heavyweight. He showed his power big time against Barrett.
