Did you miss the fact that Haye just did 800,000 PPV sales in the UK?

 

Ok now do you have the numbers for people who watched the Arreola klit fight? it was a lot more then haye.. And after the stinkfest's like that Valuev you really think he is going to do more then half of that against Ruiz?

 

Arreola v Klitschko fight was not on PPV....you might as well claim that Arreola is more popular than Pacquiao on the same basis.

 

Who's talking about Ruiz? Your statement was "No way would Haye generate as much in the UK as Wlad in Germany".

 

Oddly enough, at this point I don't really disagree with Haye getting a 50/50 split.

He's got a belt, and unless Wlad and Vitali fight each other, there's NO WAY they're going to make as much money fighting anyone but Haye. So **** it.

 

Haye is stuck with Ruiz and then Valuev rematch, forget about a fight with the Klitchkos for now.

Anyway, the only way Haye will get anything beyond 30% is if he brings the WBA belt with him, which is unrealistic till late 2010.

 

not really that fair, haye has just won the belt and the others have been holding it for some time now 60-40 sounds fair

 

Point being Haye couldnt even get HBO or even espn to pick up his fight and attracted what 8000 people in his last fight he is no whee near the draw you claim he is.

 

HBO wasn't interested in Wlad v Chagaev either, so not really much of a point there. Not that I claimed he was yet a draw in the US anyway.

I'm not really sure you understand the level of coverage Haye v Valuev generated in the UK. 800, 000 PPV sales (taking into account relative population sizes, that's equivalent to a fight doing 4 million PPVs in the US), massive coverage in the print and broadcast media as a news story, not just a sports story. More occasional boxing fans spoke to me about this fight than any since Hatton v Mayweather. What Haye might have done before is essentially irrelevant (though lets not forget Haye V Maccarinelli sold out the O2 at 2am...), he most certainly is big box office now.

 

The wlad chagaev fight had around a week of any kind of publication.. apples and oranges the fight prior was on hbo as well as most of wlad's fights the last 5 years,,

Fans have short memories and if ruiz is as bad as the valuev fight which like the other man said Valuev was a spetacle because haye was fighting for the championship against a circus act.. wait to see how the ruiz fight goes before you can tel;ll what his real drawing power.. Here in the U.S he is still a side note.. Haye might sell ok in england but that is just a drop in the pond of worldwide viewership.
