    You misunderstood.
Many people have been saying that Mercer is doing all the talking and NOT Haye.

What I am saying is I would not be shocked if Haye was actually talking to Mercer and that it could be announced to later see Mercer fall out for whatever reason his or Hayes.

I think ALL of this is just Haye keeping his name out there and all us fans watching his every move which is what we are doing

Well judging on haye's first 22 fights i don't see him fighting Mercer do you, it would be out of character as he has fought and beat the best at 200ilb :deal

Well it wouldn't be so bad if people would just stop talking about him 24/7 making threads just to bring him down its getting ridiculous. All this speculation and all this haye is ducking this fighter or that fighter, when anyone with sense can see he has not ducked anyone.

Seriously he is a 22 fight pro and has already been a european, wbc, wba, wbo ring and lineal champ at 200 :patsch He even took the fight against mormec in paris ffs and stopped him. All his victories bar one have been stoppages.

Yes its frustraing no named opponent as of yet, but its not just haye talking smack is it. Who really knows the truth about whats going on ???????

i liked mercer back in the day, great fights with morrison (possibly the most savage ko i have seen),cooper, holyfield and lennox but its a shame he is still taking shots at his age...dont get me wrong, merciless can still win fights, just not at this level anymore. he could have a reasonably successful time in europe perhaps but not against the elite, despite his recent win over hersisia. ray was as tough as they come and to see him getting starched by opponents he would have blown away at his peak would be sad....and who really wants to see haye in with a 178 year old mercer...stick to beating 2nd raters if you must continue please ray..

Don't you think that this kind of uncertainty is bad for Haye?

Yes, I would not doubt that this is all devised to keep fans interested, when its all a hype/contrived plan to pump up interest in Haye's big debut.

Maybe Haye has someone from a political campaign running his career. It sure seems similar to a politician who can decide on whom their running mate will be, with all this hype and nonsense which seems a mere ploy to generate interest/get him elected.

Does anyone have the slightest clue of how much money is being offered by Haye's promoters?

Mercer would not be petitioning the WBOgus if he wasn't approached about the fight.

You can bet PurpleHaye has approached him.

Of course Haye wants an out-of-shape 47 year old. Typical joke that has become David Haye.

Based on what? Your logic is as sound as a sound-proof room. Maybe he is petitioning in order to make himself an attractive opponent?
