Look at Ibragimov weighing 219 in the pic below. He's supposed to be 6'2 too which is the same height as Holyfield. Holy is only just over 211 here too. I reckon Ibragimov could make cruiserweight. Haye is ripped at 215. This content is protected
This is very true. Im not saying Haye MUST be 230 plus all im saying is by todays standards against the giants like Vitali Vlad Valuev and maybe even Rahman Haye is quite small.
sultan must only be 5-10 as i am around 6-2 and was abit taller than the real deal when i met him in liverpool.
This he was but so was Jack Johnson who was referred to as a "giant" hence his nickname the Galveston Giant. During his prime he weighed barely over 190lbs. Times have changed.
Lighweight!! At the end of march I weighed 251, but carried it quite well....although I felt quite sluggish. By the end of August I weighed 185, but have managed to put 10 back on in a very controlled manner and feel absolutely fantastic.
In an interview with Buncy a a couple of months back he weighed 16st 8lbs with 12% bodyfat. He has boiled down to 15st 4 as you can see in that pic. Single figure bodyfat % for sure. Doesn't sound like a natural cruiser to me. he is a natural smallish heavyweight. Ali was 6'3" and 215 at his peak. Even big guys like Foreman and Holmes weighed around this mark at their best.
Very happy to hear this. Haye should hopefully retain his speed etc but without the dry out thus stamina, reflexes should all be better. I don't want to see him past 222 and I'd like the extra weight on the legs.
Most definitly. I was watching Ali vs Frazier one the other day and explaining to the Missus how small those heavies were back then in comparison to now. ( we watched Danny Williams recently and her response was "WTF is that!" )
Yep. I find it hard to get my head around how small the old fighters were compared to the guys we have now. Primo would be fairly average right now apart from he was so thick set and strong.
And Primo got sparked by a 13st Max Baer iirc!! I just think Haye has such destructive power at Cruiser, he will still hit very hard at h/w but will have so much time to land the shots
I know that it is a completely different era and kettle of fish but a 187 Dempsey completely ruined a 245 6'6" Willard in very short order
