Haye will be ringside for the wlad-chagaev fight

If the contention is that Haye faked his injury then Wlad could sue. Surely there is an 'injury/no fault' clause which lets either fighter off the hook in the case of an injury BUT if Haye was faking it then Wlad would be able to sue for breach of contract.

Although, why would you go threw the pointless exercise of sueing somebody you know barely has a penny to his name?

 

Even if Haye is faking it it is very hard to prove a back injury anyway. There is no reason to sue since the show is still going on.

 

If Wlad has the medical reports then he would KNOW if Haye is faking it or not. That's all the PROOF he needs. :blood

 

Sue for losses incurred due to the switch in fighters. The fight is still going on but Wlad has lost all that sexy HBO money and well as having to PAY Chagaev to come in as a replacement. There's easily $5-10 Million worth that Wlad could sue for...

But, Haye has no money, Haye's promotion company does not have much money and Haye's backer Setanta is on the verge of insolvency. Really hard to get blood from a stone.

As far as the plane ride, long flights are excruciating for people who actually have back injuries, which is a tell tale sign that he doesn't.

brigand's right, it's next to impossible to clinically prove he's got a strained back muscle - coz obviously it's no more serious than that.
besides, how many boxers supply their own docs who will fabricate doctor's notes?

According to Chef,Wlad gets paid a annual flat rate from HBO,not fight by fight.In other words,Haye backing out doesnt cost Wlad as far as i know.If Haye backed out because of the Setana situation,He could possibly have worked out a deal with K-2 that would have gauranteed a minimum purse that would have come from K-2 if Setana went bust.Just a thought.

Back injuries differ in severity and pain funnily enough. Haye is able to start to train properly around about the time of the Wlad fight, so what is the big deal of him getting on a plane to see the fight.
