Unless he changes that style. He is not Lennox lewis, not anywhere near Lewis, so he must keep a higher guard. His chin is also weak. No doubting that Haye has big KO power, but he is wide open to right hands. He was lucky last night, very lucky.

Yes it was only luck that got him through against the best cruiserweght in the world. It was clearly a fluke how he survived the 4th round, nothing to do with being tough and determined.
That salvo of punches he finished Mormeck with were all lucky punches.
Haye is a very lucky champion, never in a million years would he be able to pull off a fluke like that again.

He was weight trained and fighting at %70, look at home cotto was as a fully fit W/W taking Mosleys shots, if he was at LW/W he would of gone down.

Like any H/W he can be K.O but he will be H/W champ because they wont hit him because of his speed!

Are you saying Haye wasnt badly hurt in that fight? If he lands on the canvas again, he probbaly won't survive like he did last night.

The referee saved Haye when he took at least ten seconds to warn him about hitting behind the head. This was when his legs were still jelly mould. As I said, Haye has the KO Power to trouble any fighter, but he does not protect that chin well enough.

Is it hell what he said - you can't read.

The referee helped him big time.

Why not? It's not like he was out on his feet. He got hurt, but like any good fighter he got through it.
If Haye was constantly getting hurt and knocked down in his career by low grade opposition, in low level fights then you may have a point. However, this fight was at the highest possible level, yet he got back up and flattened Mormeck, who was the best cruiserweight in the world, and The Ring champ.
Maybe he will get KO'd at heavyweight, but that could be true for anybody.
One knockdown whilst seriously struggling at the weight is hardly a basis to claim he is destined to not survive tough moments at his more natural weight.

his chin will be better at heavy although it might get cancelled out due to the heavys hitting harder. either way its going to be real fun too watch.

For such a large guy with a good reach etc he has a very poor jab. He should have a much better jab. A while back in an interview he mentioned he had been given some tips to improve his jab by Lennox Lewis. Maybe when he is not weight drained he will make better use of the jab.

Still an exciting fighter to watch.

Unlike many fighters, Haye is prepared to step up and take the risks in his career. The loss against Carl Thompson would have ruined many protected fraudsters, but it didn't deter him at all.
His attitude to boxing is a breath of fresh air, yet so called boxing fans still knock him. Perhaps he would gain your respect if he went to Frank Warren and asked for an easy career.

If you don't like David Haye, why don't you start following somebody like Roman Greenberg. Then come back and tell us what you think of Haye.

That's the main problem with his stance. He doesnt have a huge jab like Lewis or a George Foreman, so has to protect his head better.

His immediate refusal to defend his titles also suggests he's running scared. How much money does he think he'll get for a fight against Skelton? He'll need to risk that chin a few more times before he gets near a Klitschko or Chagaev, so he may as well take the big money for the Macca fight everyone wants to see.

Do you only watch the fights and not bother watching interviews, or reading the press? Haye has been saying for ages he will not stay at cruiserweight.
Do you honestly think he is scared of Enzo?

If he'd rather take home chicken feed to fight Skelton, then he's open to the accusation.

Haye will skip Skelton/ Harrision etc and go straight into world class (such as it is at heavyweight)....personally I think his chin will let him down at HW.
