It is not clear whether the former two-time champion David Haye (28-4) 39 year old London who left boxing active in 2018 to become manager was in the mood for jokes when rieri released an interview that raised a lot of curiosity. Haye says he would consider a return to boxing but only to face the winner of the heavyweight reunification match between his two countrymen Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

David Haye admits a fight with either Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua could entice him out of retirement

-I feel able to return to boxing but only for a historical event. - Haye told Behind the Gloves - I would go up again to fight with the AJ winner against Tyson Fury because it would be a number one duel. At this moment my body is still elastic, I'm fine, the ancient wounds have healed. Currently I train daily at least 45 minutes a day with a good intensity. I still have so much pride to pull out and I would be up to the task.

I'd like a lot to see a fighter of Haye's generation fighting Fury or Joshua but it should be noted that Haye was forced to give up to face Fury some years ago due to a deep eye cut suffered in a sparring session with a very young Hrgovic. In your opinion wouldn't it be better if he gave up on his intent to avoid to look bad? Or instead someone here thinks he can have remarkable chances to win or to create serious problems for Fury or Joshua who are at the peak of their careers?

Haye has embarrassed himself the last two times he entered the ring, and has not had a significant victory in years. He does not deserve a shot at any title.

I'll tell you a better fight, Haye v Wilder II.
    Both closer in age.
If Wilder loses to Fury again, both will be coming off back to back defeats.
    A KO is guaranteed.
    Winner fights Wlad.

It's the $$$ that he's looking at. But forget Haye.... let him go and beat a top guy or two first. Just a never-was HW wannabe.

Shouldn't they have Haye vs Wilder I first?

When you say Wilder II, maybe you mean Marcellos?

    Just kidding, man!

In any event, if the division was similar to the Klitschko era when they were looking under bridges for opponents and searching for train hobos, I would say sure, why not?

As it is, Fury will have to fight Wilder III, presumably Joshua, and his mandatory in Dillion Whyte. Should he run that gauntlet and want to continue on, he will pick up Joshua's mando Usyk, and will probably want to fight Joshua again. None of this can start until 2021, so Haye does not fit in anywhere.

    Unless...

This could be a good covid fight. They are starting to do fights with limited crowds. They could make Haye-Fury as a crowdless PPV with a cheap price, or put it on a network and make the money through advertising. each would have to agree to make a reasonable amount for such an event, but Fury could do it since he would have virtually no chance of losing, and Haye would do it because he loves a pound note.

    Just a thought.

Tony Bellew won't return despite desire to fight Andy Ruiz Jr, says Eddie Hearn
Hearn says Bellew "could fight again" but adds: "It's nice to see people leave their career happy"

Tony Bellew could potentially still defeat a top heavyweight like Andy Ruiz Jr, but the former world champion will not make a shock return, says promoter Eddie Hearn.

The Merseysider has recently fuelled speculation about a comeback by suggesting that he would easily beat the ex-unified world champion Ruiz Jr, despite entering retirement after a knockout loss to undisputed cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk in November 2018.

Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn admitted that Bellew still believes he could "smash" the Mexican, even after a lengthy absence from the ring, although he insisted the 37-year-old will not fight again.

Asked if Bellew will return, Hearn told Sky Sports: "No. He phoned me and said: 'I would smash Andy Ruiz Jr'.

"He said: 'I know I could beat him'. He is a fighter that misses it.

"After the Usyk fight, he told me: 'Make sure I never get in the ring again'. I'm 20 times more scared of [his wife] than I am of Tony!

"He could fight again. He's not shot, he's not finished in the slightest, but isn't it better to go out like that, than have one too many?

"Maybe he could beat Ruiz Jr but maybe he would get knocked out and we'd think: 'we shouldn't have done that'."

The former WBC cruiserweight champion stepped up to heavyweight in the latter stages of his career to produce two victories over British rival David Haye, then moved back down in an audacious bid to take all four major world titles from Usyk.

"Tony's legacy is as a guy who won British, European, Commonwealth and world championships and tried the greatest feat of all to become undisputed champion," said Hearn.

Lmfao. Yes Haye is "willing" to walk into a big money fight. The question is why does he believe he's deserving/relevant at all pretty much a euro level heavy at his absolute best which he is far beyond now
