I posted a few weeks ago and said that Haye deserved credit for matching himself against a live opponent in Monte Barret, for his second heavyweight fight. The fight's just ended and with Haye spectacularly knocking out Barret (5 knockdowns in total). Respect to Barret for coming in shape and making this an exciting fight - he was certainly no slouch and was game right up until he was knocked out for the final time. Now I'm not saying that Haye's the next big thing in heavyweight boxing, but what I can say is if you want to see a heavyweight who's exciting and is willing to take risks against credible opponents and is susceptible to getting KTFO himself, Haye's your man. He thoroughly deserves some respect for making a boxing fight worth watching, particulalry where the outcome is not a forgone conclusion!!!
Yes Haye could very well be quite exciting, he is a threat to KO his opponent, and to be starched himself.
He did great, but there's only so much credit you get for beating a past his "never all that much anyway prime" Monte Barrett.
I'll give him credit, but I am also looking for the day when I see his orbituary from the HW division after he meets Vitali.
i think Barrett was a good first fight. most people will **** on haye because he and his fans talk so much **** about him Koing everyone and being champ like it is a given. anyway good show by haye.
Haye beat Monte Barrett. Great. He got knocked down in the process. The questions about Hayes chin and stamina at HW remain unanswered. Does he have a chance against the Klitschkos? I doubt it. I strongly doubt it..
Congrats on 1 win at HW against an old challenger. Credit for the win, but not anything resembling elite or savior of the division...based off of the reports I have read. I have not seen the fight yet myself, so thats my opinion based on articles.
Haye had a pretty hard time and took a few big hits too btw. He also hit the deck So credit for beating Barrett. Haye is a top10 heavyweight imo
He gets a lot of credit, but this is the beggining and not the end of his journey. We all know who Barret is, a good boxer with limited power who can underachieve or spoil. Now Haye has to fight someone who can really bring heavyweight power.
Too many are quick to write off Haye after one fight at HW. What's one fight? Let's see what's happens after 3-4 fights at HW.
Barrett is such a smallish Heavyweight in comparison to the Klits... I can see both brothers steamrolling him.
yea you can clearly see this wasn't a slip when you look at hayes feet and the punch that goes over his head :rofl This content is protected
If you mean going over top of his chin and hitting him dead in the head then your right. The punch did not go over top ****. They must have shitty vision plans in europe.
