So Haye Wlad got - 1 million PPVS via SKY TV

This upcoming fight with Chisora has captured the publics attention far more due to the coverage of it more to the non boxing fans and regular tv audience via the various media outlets.

If Haye Chisora can do one million or more boxnation subscribers - most would not stay on and get this as a once off

some will stay and that's more benefit to Frank

however the point here is that due to box nations business model and no fixed term contract - they are basically allowing ppv style business to take place and profit just as much from it as a Sky ppv.

    it is indeed smart :yep

    :deal Agreed mate.

It's a very savvy business move by those concerned. Frank has made no secret of the fact that he is a fan of PPV, and regardless of what percentage he does or does not own of Boxnation he clearly is instrumental in it's running.

I think the way Boxnation has set it's self up is very clever, because it appeals to different types of fans and allows everyone to watch what they want, when they want. You can either be in all the time at a set monthly amount, but with no minimum contract, or you can just dip in for a month at a time, or even just the one show. Its ideal and is something Sky never quite achieved.

It is actually quite a shrewd business model they have needed a fight like this for a while. Ideally they would have launched the channel with such a fight. That way you keep your subscriber base for longer......if you deliver value.

PPV for 5er cheaper than SKY and for a month's worth of programming so.......better product, better price, better value. No brainer.

It won't do anywhere near a million if you have to pay a 20 quid signing on fee plus the tenner for the month. People would be prepared to lash out 15 quid for a one off fight, but not 30.

Thers another thread stating that they are bringing it in....if you want to pick and mix your months you will have to pay the signing on fee every time

Would be foolish of them to try and do that £5 admin charge or sign up fee i can imagine but £20...... that would be shooting yourself in the foot

I'm a subscriber from the start, because I'm boxing mad, but for BN to really take off they really need to get rid of the pay wizard bollocks.

The biggest mistake any business can make is to obstruct willing consumers from giving you their money. It's unforgivable.

    :deal Totally agree mate.

I've been with BN since the very start, and so far (touch wood - no homo!) have had no problems, but the amount of complaints I've seen on here, and even more so on the BN Facebook page is crazy!

I've said before I can understand initially why they used a third party to provide the payment collection system, it is probably quite a specialised service and it makes sense financially to go with it at the start.

But surely as soon as things are underway they should change to an in-house system? It probably isn't cheap having Pay Wizard handling things, surely they would be better suited spending that money on a 24 hour in-house payment hotline of sorts?:think

Yes sure he does, also promoting a fight there so they are bigging things up. I know the number as I work in the industry and it was just over half what's quoted there. It may well have done a million buys if Sky's systems hadn't crashed that night, but they did and it didn't
