So you're basically saying Wlad should accept a smaller part of the total revenues than Haye, so basically it works out to something like 40% for Wlad, 60% for Haye? Just because Wlad "wants Haye more badly than the other way around and should prove he really wants it"? Not sure how most here feel about it but I always thought Haye wanted 50/50 of the total pot with no options, just like Adam Booth asked for, just like in any other unification fight in history (Ibragimov for example reportedly received 50/50 with Wlad in the IBF/WBO unification fight). Remember when some Haye defenders were claiming "50/50 was a lie, the Klits never offered 50/50". Well what is it now? Was it a lie?
Sorry you can't make an unreasonable demand like Haye did - asking for more than 50% of the total revenues - and call it an offer. That is not an offer, that is an insult in a unification fight. Haye always said he wanted the WBA belt from Valuev first so he gets stronger bargaining power at the negotiating table. Well it seems he got an offer that would give him 50% of all money generated that night with no options. Still he didn't like it. Right or wrong?
Wlads deal with RTL gets him $3million per fight. Haye gets £5 from every ppv sale. Agaisnt John Ruiz, potentially the least marketable fighter in the top 20 HW's at the time and he still got 500k buys. Thats $3,750,000. I think Haye is a ***** for not accepting Wlads offer......but Wlad is also a ***** for letting money stand in the way of the fight. He says he wants Haye but lets $1millon stop the fight. There both dicks.
Thats exactly what Waldo did in the negotiations for the first fight. Haye managed to get himself a better deal in england. Is that his fault. Remeber it is not only Haye who decides on the money. There are an aweful lot of people with fingers in Haye's pie!!!
Yeh your right Haye is a ***** for not accepting the offer..........but so is Wlad. He turned down Hayes offer of 50-50 and keeping there own countrys TV money. They have BOTH turned down the fight due to money not just Haye. The demand cant be called a ***** move but its no unreasonable. Haye brings more money to the table when it comes to TV. I guarentee you sky paid less money for Wlads last fight than Germans paid for Hayes.
Try to drill this into your head: All this "financial issues" are just an excuse for Haye to avoid Wlad, nothing else. Wlad has ALREADY tabled the fairest possible deal - 50/50. And you also finally admit that Wlad has been honest about the offer since the day he went public with it. But Haye has lied, denied the offer as such, spread the rumours about the public ban etc... And now, after all this they're both dicks? Are you out of your mind?
Yes but now he wants 100% UK TV money and a 50% of everything else (US PPV, international TV right, gate revenues etc.) except for German TV money, right? Manager Adam Booth will demand a 50-50 split on the fight. If the Klitschkos do not agree on 50-50, the fight won't happen with either brother. "The Klitschkos have to get it inside their heads that the only spilt will be 50-50. If they think it will be anything else they are deluding themselves," Booth said. Whatever happened to this? :think [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wuj6iyUMtfc&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
This is ridiculous.. I'm a brit and Haye fan but he doesn't even deserve 50 percent ffs! Wlad has shown how much he wants this fight by offering the 50/50 with no options. Why doesn't Haye just accept the terms! After all the words Haye needs to step up and back his words up. Wlad is the linear, universally recognised heavyweight champ... he should hold the WBA as well if it wasn't for blatant sanctioning body corruption. What more can you say other than if Haye walks away from this is he has bottled it.
True but you realize that this means that Wlad would have to accept something like 40-45% of the total revenues and Haye wants to get 55-60% of the total purse? Would you accept Haye's demand if you were Wlad, considering this is a unification fight, not another boring voluntary or mandatory defense? I find that type of "offer" highly insulting and indicative of Haye's general disinterest in fighting Wladimir at this stage. IMO Wlad proved by employing Finkel to push a 50/50 revenue split no options offer towards Booth/Haye that he genuinely wants to fight Haye on fair, equal and respectful terms, right now. Thus far, the same can not be said of Haye.
At the end of the day though David Haye is the CHALLENGER and shouldn't be making these demands. The unfair part of the contract with the options has been removed and both Haye and Klitschko (the champ) will receive the same purse. MORE than fair IMO.
