Haye Wlad... 50-50 WAS offered!!!!!

I see both sides, but believe it or not. Wlad needs Haye more than Haye needs Wlad. Wlad's career itself will be viewed as one that had him facing men often times 6 inches shorter with limmited skill set to boot. It's like Lebron going one on one with the best highschool players, he's obviously out of their league in skills and in physical strength. Thats how many will view the Klitscko's reign at the top.

Wlad needs top level oppenents before it's too late, Haye would be the most gifted fighter Wlad ever faced and his toughest oppenent since Peter back in late 05.

 

Wladimir will make more than his 75%, because he owns part of the promotion company, K2. So the bid amount isn't as important
as it would be, as far as his pay goes, if he were promoted by someone else.

Secondly, for the first purse bid, it was rumored that Povetkin's side was going to bid at or above $10million, as he supposedly had some financial backers. This turned out not to be the case, and might have just been a ploy to get Povetkin's share larger for himself. Which would have worked had the fight happened.

 

wlad will make more than that from the fight. povetkin will get the agreed purse split.

 

It's not Wladimirs fault he's head and shoulders above everyone else in the division, including David Haye.
Offering 50-50 with no strings attached is more than fair, it's charitable of the lineal champion making his 9th defense.

Povetkin is an olympic gold medalist with an unblemished record, how on earth is that not a legitimate fight?

 

It's not Wlad's demands that have stopped negotiatings. The issue is quite simple: Either you believe that the established champion deserves a larger cut, as has been the case for more than a century now, or you do not. It is clear that what we have here is an ego play by both fighters. Wlad believes he deserves the bigger cut because he is the established champion and Haye believes he deserves the bigger cut because he has managed to establish more lucrative deals for himself with pay per view in UK. Neither man will budge, so all of us lose. Attributing blame to either party does nothign but reveal your (not your, but in general) nation of orgin. Both are to blame.

You forget two things:

1. EUR was $1.60 in 2008, now it's closer to $1.20. The twists your analysis based on US Dollars since the revenues for the fight are EUR denominated.
2. The lower the purse bid the MORE MONEY Wlad makes, you got it the other way around. The purse bid only determines Povetkin's purse, Wlad's total earnings are not impacted because by winning the bid he essentially is paying himself (through his own promotion company K2). The less money he spends winning the purse bid the more money he ends up making through K2.

 

Looks like Povetkin's "very rich Russian financial backers that will win the purse bid" weren't so rich anymore after the global financial crisis hit

 

You wont get a reasonable answer on here. The truth is no one knows really what's going on. But you will get a good few idiots on here who think they do. Sit back and see what happens. You would think people would have enough going on in their life to occupy them selfs with. Rather than being obsessed in bringing down Haye. When they actually know **** all about these supposed negotiations.

 

And as far as who wants the fight more, again, that's a stupid question. It depends entirely on their situation. Haye wanted it badly when it was his only option. Now that he can make money other ways, he doesn't seem to have much interest. Wlad seemed to want it when he could get a cutrate deal, not that he may actually earn less than Haye, he's clearly having second thoughts. At the end of the day both fighters are behaving like egotistical businessmen and neither one deserves our dollars, euros or pounds. They are the main reason why the heavyweight division is on life support. :-(

I never blamed Wlad for the fight not getting made, though the offer is there. If I was Wlad, I would swallow my pride and take the fight. A win over Haye would mean alot for his career. The ball is really in Wlad's court at this time.

As far as Povetkin is concerned, the guy is a farce. Another Audley Harrison in the making imo. His best wins over guys that couldn't knockout the likes of Zuri Lawrence. He never fought an oppenent with power, dont you find that kinda strange?

 

this is sad, and just proof haye is ducking the klits. how anyone, even from the UK, couldn't see that is beyond me.. pathetic, this is part of what's ruining boxing.

 

Did you read what I wrote regarding the EUR/USD exchange rate? If you factor that in the difference is closer to 20% than to "half" as you claim.
