If Haye had fought Wladmir in 2009 and got knocked out - I would have respected him for taking the fight.

If Haye fights Wladmir now - and got knocked out - I would not mock a professional fighter for getting knocked out by any means - but I would be like - there you go serves you right.

If Haye fights Wladmir now - and knocks Wlad out - I would respect his talent but feel he has soured his victory for bullshitting out a fight he had the ability to win all along.

I understand people not liking Haye's past moves but the fact is, he's done far more than Wlad to make the fight happen this time around. There's no question about that and the people who whine about him should acknowledge that.

Is that right? Haye talks **** all the time, I don't buy it.

Why would Wlad duck Haye? Haye has much more to worry about in the potential matchup IMO, he is the one who is more likely to not want the fight.

Either way mate, it's all bollocks; in the days of one World title all of this would be easily averted:deal

:huh More like Haye does. He's done very little in the past few years. Wlad has beaten every feasible top ten Heavy apart from Arreola (average) and Johnson (shocking) why would he duck Haye?

Haye is nothing special. Wlad has very little to fear IMO. Haye on the other hand is smaller, not proven as a top Heavyweight, and the fight doesn't stylistically favour him.

People say 'well Haye beat Valuev'. So did Chagaev, and more convincingly. Low and behold Wlad didn't drop a round to Chagaev, sat him on his arse and ended up forcing the end of the fight.

I'm no Wlad fan. I don't think he's an ATG or anything, and in most eras he'd be little more than a 6-10 type fighter. But in comparison to Haye, W.Klitschko is the far superior operator.

Haye should fight Vitali; far more favourable IMO.

Agreed. I probably rate Wlad higher than you do but the general thoughts are bang on.

I just don't see how Haye wins this.

Every weakness that Wlad has...... Haye has the same, only worse.

Wlad's apparently weak stamina.... Haye is usually exhausted after a few rounds. Wlad's weak chin.... guess what..... Haye's chin is weaker.

Wlad is taller, has longer reach and is hard to hit.

I can see Haye being rescued by a comination of Booth and the referee without taking too much damage but being unable to mount too much of an assault against Wlad.

Wlad offered the July 2nd date after Chisora. Haye and the gang take a hissy fit and say its impossible. Then a few months back they come back and so okay Wlad, we'll accept the fight.
Yeah team Haye deserve a lot of credit for that....

The thing is - I think it might be making a assumption to say Wlad had a bad chin.

Ross Purity - it seemed a case more of running out of steam and more too do with exhaustion than chin issues.

Corrie Saunders - is devestating early on with his speed and power - so its just one of them things - Wlad ot nailed early by a big puncher.

Consider - Corrie Saunders - stung and really hurt Vitali Klitshcko in the 2nd round - more so than Lennox Lewis was able to do in thowing everything at Vitali for 6 rounds.

Lamon Brewster - they say Wlad was drugged or something funny with him. Whatever was wrong with him - he put it all right in the rematch to prove he wa superior.

Sam Peter - dropped Wlad a couple of times - but Wlad got up.

'Haye-Wlad about to sign contracts' seems to be the 'Lennox Lewis making a comeback' of ESB these days.

Still no word on this? I'm glad I haven't allowed myself to get excited.

Except one huge thing: The mental aspect.

Wlad openly admits he isn't a fighter at heart, he has never shown a ruthless streak and we've literally seen him have panic attacks when he gets hit. If Haye gets hit, cut, knocked down, he'll fight back. Compare that to how Wlad has reacted and you seriously think they are comparable? Wlad has gone down several times without being hit out of pure fear and I say that as a huge fan of his.

As far as physical attributes go, Wlad has an advantage in most areas, except things like agility and speed. Technically, Wlad is better though Haye has a more natural style. However, mentally, they are entirely different - Haye is stronger, without question.

If you look at the concessions both fighter has made, then, yeah, Haye has made more. People will always go back to 2009/10 and point out Haye's faults but this time around, he has done the right thing by accepting things he didn't need to. Personally, I think the fight should be at a neutral venue and Haye could have demanded that but he accepted Germany. The fight makes more money in Britain and makes more sense, as it's neutral, in America yet Wlad got his own way simply because he refused to budge.

I genuinely don't know of one concession Wlad has made. If anyone can tell me one, I'd like to hear it and I'm not asking this to prove a point: Has Wlad made even one concession? What has he done to make the fight happen?

But I agree with your last point, certainly. I just want the division to have one true champion and, if that's Wlad, I hope Vitali drops his WBC title and allows Wlad to fight for it.
