That's what I am fearing most. The winner of the fight will be declared a Top X ATG heavy and we'll see 100s of threads here on ESB.... when in reality this bout is rather meaningless in the grand scheme of things for the ATG standing for *BOTH* men. If Wlad wins and Haye retires then Wlad's resume is pretty much as good (or bad, depending on your view) as it was before the fight. If Haye wins then he still has an extremely thin resume while beating one elite HW. If Wlad wins then in 10 years people won't remember who Haye was and the win won't be any better than any other win of Wlad's. If Haye wins then in 10 years he'll be talking of how he beat Wlad because nobody will remember the other nobodies he beat.
Everytime I see a post saying how great Wlad is, I look across and see the poster is American. I guess it really sucks that you have **** all yourselves in the heavyweight scene so you have to latch onto these Ukrainians.
I for one cannot wait. This forum is going to be serving a lot of humble pie to the fans of the klit sisters. The thing is, Haye when he wins, won't mean he is an ATG. It will just expose that the sisters have been lording it over an exceptionally weak heavyweight division. Deep down, even the most ardent Klit nuthugger knows this is to be the case. Hell even Chef, knows this is the truth. No doubt he is currently putting together some great recipes together for different types of soups.
How is beating Haye a bigger win for Wlad than winning vs. Ibragimov? Iggy retired after losing and so will Haye. Neither men had a deep resume to begin with. That greatly diminishes the value of potential victories. What if Vitali retired on the spot after being stopped by Lewis, what value would the win carry for Lewis' resume? Zero. But Vitali went on to win a belt and stop a number of top 10 HW contenders after losing to Lewis. That greatly increases the accomplishment of Lewis in stopping a prime and hungry Vitali.
well considering its an english forum, and wladimir has been and conitnues to be the undisputed HW champ for years now, i guess that might be a reason for people saying wlad is great. he has only steamrolled everyone that comes his way. and ****ing who do you have anyways? david ****ing haye? are you shitting me? you act like thats somethign to be proud of.. :rofl
This forum will lose 30% of its userbase on Juli 2nd. I'm dying to see which camp'll go. Btw. some of you guys are overstimating Haye's speed advantage. Time and time again Wlad proved to have a decent hand speed for such a huge boxer and his foot speed is excellent.
I wonder if Haye is as tired of himself talking about how he is going to beat Wlad as I am. I think Wlad is going to win... but I honestly don't care as much... I just want the fight to be over so I can stop hearing Haye's childish remarks. We get it... David... you're a cocky jerk.
I am just so disillusioned by Haye, he was exciting as a cruiser definitely but since the move upto heavy, all the talk of being the HWs saviour and nothing. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fold a la Fraudley when they fought. Given up caring really..... I think Haye has done more damage to the division outside of the ring than either of the Klitchkos have managed inside one.
He`s got fancy hair, a high ko ratio and he loves the spotlight. It doesn`t take much talent to sell **** today!
