Speed both in hand and foot, Ability to slip punches, Power, Guts (Which could also be his downfall). Haye is an excellent finisher, once your on trouble he will not let you of the hook. I also do not think stanima is an issue with him anymore. His chin is not fantastic but his recovery level is. If you look at the times he was been Knocked Down, he always won the following round. and agaisnt Thompson he was stopped on his feet, and only got knocked down due to exorstion.

I also think Haye is a vastly under rated boxer. If he did not have the power i still think he would have becmome a champion at cruiser by out boxing those guys.

ok you can say my comments are a tad pro haye, but the origional thread was very anti Haye.

one thing i do not understand is why people would want him to fail. He is surley everything you want in a boxer. want to fight the best, takes no easy fights, always has exciting fights, can knock a guy out and be knocked out himself at any point, entertining in interviews, works hard, dedicated.

Nice to see reason still prevails here on the British board when it comes to David Haye.

he might not be the saviour, but he'll at least make things interesting. the guy can at least promote a fight and has charisma, which is more than can be said for most of the other heavyweights, bar toney. he also brings that vulnerability and excitement to fights, which is what you used to get with wlad, before his current incarnation. you knew someone would got knocked out, but could just as likely have been wlad as opposed to his opponent.

its true, haye was hurt. but i honeslty think Mormecks power, like hayes, at 200 is match to 95% of guys at heavy. that in terms of the total package of the shot, speed, accuracy, timing, power = BIG Puncher.

Well, I dont know about that. To me it is probably comparable to a guy like Povetkin. A lot of heavies can punch harder it is just that they would find it much harder to land on Haye due to their lack of speed and skill.

Dont get me wrong, he was hurt, and it was a legit knockdown I won't argue with that. But he never looked he was getting knocked out to me. Infact about 30 seconds after the knockdown he seemed fine.

And dont listen to Colonel Bob Sheridan, he's employed by Don King, and always roots for the King fighter. Watch Holyfield - Lewis II if you dont believe me. Most biased commentator in boxing.

not including Atlanta native Evander Holyfield in this.

Who was the last Crusierweight Champion to move up to heavyweight and fight for the title.

    James Toney.

Haye is a very different fighter to either of those.

He seemed to do a good job in that fight, I didnt detect any bias.

Anyway, I cant remember for sure how quickly Haye recovered, but the way he went down definitely signaled to me that he was hurt. So its only logical to think that if he did that from Mormeck, he will be very vulnerable at heavyweights. Plus that low left hand.

Like I said, too many question marks to really be certain how Haye will fare in the division.

Haye will be stripped of a heavyweight title if he tests postive for steroids.

There are suspicions he might of been on steriods the night he beat Enzo Macc
