can i have an honest assesment on what the **** is going on....???..i was a big haye fan, saw him as a breath of fresh air in the heavyweights, a guy who is in shape, would fight anyone, has big power and big charisma, a guy people would wanna watch and who could perhaps beat the existing champs and retire, go down as a solid, exciting ex champ.... yet now i dunno what to believe....the fights cant be made for reason a, bor ****in z, wlad wont fight him, vitali want too much money and hayes foirst born child if you believe hayes camp, haye is a ****in ***** if you believe the k bros camp.... saddest thing for me is that haye may have to live out his life in the full knowledge that he never utilised his full potential, he could hav eben so much more...dont get me wrong, he is world hw champ, and a two weight champ at that...he has realsied more in his life than many of ever will....but there is nothing worse than a 'coulda been...'person....if haye retires without cleaning up, or attempting to do so, the division, he is gonna be remebrerd as another smash and grab artist who abused the hw crown for his own fiscal security and not much else, and that would be a shame..... come on wlad, vitali and david....round robin winner takes all whos the best tourney.....AINT NEVER GONNA HAPPEN so, someone please enlighten me with FACTS on why and not specualtion
The fact is that David Haye, Wladimir Klitschko, Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. all in a way have contributed to NOT making the 2 biggest fights boxing could have seen in a looong time. And therefore deserves nothing but a big **** You from the fans who they are cheating.
You won't get many facts in here, although there are a few threads around with some facts in. However, these are soon dismissed in favour of shameless fanboyism and ignorant conjecture The Klit fans say Haye is scared and ducking. The Haye fans say Klit is scared and ducking.
yeah i get that vibe..would like some genuiine answers/opinions not fanboy blinded conjecture and conspiracy theories
It's hard to get any real facts mate. The problem was the money, the date and the venue. After a long stuggle they seem'd to have settled on 50/50, where at first there was talk about Haye getting all the money from SKY and Klitschko getting all the money from RTL.. Then they seem'd to settle for 50/50 all around.. but then the problem about that was that Haye wanted K2 to give the TV rights to the highest bidding TV company in Germany, so that if anyone offered more than RTL, they were pass on the rights to them.. But K2 did not like that.. Then another problem was the date of the fight. See they had to find a date where BOTH the british Sky and German RTL could show the fight. On the those dates was in the same month as Amir Khan had a fight, and so Sky refused to have 2 big fights in the same month, and apparently they favor Khan over Haye. Then a third problem was the venue. I didn't hear many details about this, as they were never revealed.. but Haye dont want to fight in Germany and Klitschko dont want to fight in England.. There you have it. Excuse bad grammar etc..
i thought haye HAD agreed to fight wlad in germany??....before it all went the way of the pear, obviously
Basic facts (although these will no doubt be dismissed and lead to me being labelled a fan boy or something): Haye has to make a mandatory defence of his WBA against Chagaev before June. However, this date can be moved back to accommodate a unification fight between Haye and Wlad. The only date both fighters (and their TV stations) could agree on was July 2nd. Sky have a Khan PPV booked in April and won't do two PPV in one month. I have heard that May and June was ruled out because Wlad wanted the fight in Germany and no suitable venues were available until July. I don't know if this is 100% though. Wlad decided he wanted a stay busy fight against Chisora on April 30th before fighting Haye on July 2nd. This is where the problem lies. If Wlad signs to fight Chisora, then there can be no guarantees that the fight with Haye will be a unification (as he could lose the belts). Although they can sign a contract for the fight on July 2nd, it will not be a guaranteed unification fight as long as there is a chance Wlad could lose his titles before that date. Because he will not be definitely be fighting a unification, Haye must make a mandatory defence against Chag before June. Unless they can get it arranged for March, then the fight cannot happen until the second week of May (Khan PPV) meaning that a Haye fight with Wlad 1.5 months later is ruled out.
Buddy. Go and read the 'on the ropes' interview with Emanuel Steward on the front page. That should clear it up.
haye doesn't give a **** about boxing ..... he wants to retire in october and become an action hero in B class movies this was evident when he shamelessly promoted that JOKE fight with audley and ripped off the public and more importantly the Boxing fans he knows he is TOO SMALL for a heavyweight and sooner or later someone will catch him with a BOMB and his career will be over he will duck both klits and face another journeyman HW in a retirement fight in the UK and leave the sport as heavyweight champion will start a movie career Blatantly Obvious
bigG, I’ve been a bit of Haye hater lately, but I’ll try and offer an impartial summary of the latest failed negotiations. - All the major things were agreed upon - The TV deals, purse split, revenue, etc. The only thing remaining was a date. - Wlad’s camp was under the impression an April date was available. But unfortunately, Sky could not accommodate an April date due to another PPV they’re holding in that month. The next available date which both they and RTL could do, was July 2nd. - Wladimir’s camp then thought “July? That’s friggin’ miles away!”. They didn’t want to be sitting idle for 10 months, and considering Haye’s history of pulling out fights, that 10 months could then be 14 months. So they then decided, why not make use of that April date that RTL had given them, and get Chisora back in for a keep-busy fight. He still intends to fight Haye immediately after - whether it be the July date, or a little bit later. - This was bad news for the Haye camp. David Haye, for a very long time, has insisted on retiring before October 2011. He’s now running on a tight schedule, and at best he can only muster two more fights. He wants these final fights to be the biggest paydays they can possibly be, and that July 2nd date that has been given to them by Sky, is crucial to him achieving his plans. Wlad choosing to stay busy with Chisora, jeopardizes the July 2nd date. - With Wlad proceeding with a keep-busy fight, Haye is being pushed into doing the same thing. His keep-busy fight will be with a Chagaev. Remember, Haye is now only motivated for big paydays before his retirement. A Chagaev fight, for all its efforts in preparing for, will not provide the payday Haye would like. - Haye, being extremely annoyed, resorts to using Wladimir’s choice of a keep-busy fight as a way of saying “Look everyone, it’s him who’s backed out!!”. He won’t look towards Vitali Klitschko – a man who he also promised to knockout – because he’s a bigger threat than the younger brother, and has the greater potential to ruin everything. Haye is now claiming he doesn’t need the Klitschkos, and he can happily retire without having to face them. And that’s pretty much it so far.
