reckon he will lose all my respect, and that of any boxing fans, if he retires without fighting the k bros after all his rhetoric....and the more i read and find out about a man of whom i am/was?? a fan and defender, the more i realise that it wont matter a **** to him..pretty dissilusioned by it all

Wlad taking Chisora and Adamek while David beating Chagaev and Povetkin (?) would make the fight big again. David's Harrison win and Wlad's Chisora cancel leaved everyone with a bad taste.
General interest has declined big time and both guys coming off from good wins might get the mega status back. Next summer it would have been 'only' a big fight.

Rico, I think you know that you're not being COMPLETELY impartial there, as you have not made a single reference to the mandatory situation which is (apparently) at the crux of the issue.

    You sly dawg :yep

    Haye's ducking Wlad. :bart

But, yes, you're right. The mandatory with Chagaev - which he must take now - will further delay the fight, and ruin his plans.

No, and Haye ****ed himself in the arse for cash there. That's a huge and valid criticism. If he hadn't of chased the cash and fought Harrison, instead taking care of his madatory, then the Wlad fight could happen without a hitch.

At the same time, knowing that it would rule out a fight with Haye, Wlad could have opted not to fight a British level fighter with only 14 fights to his name and then the fight could happen without a hitch

All of the above is opinion rather than fact. As much as I dislike Haye's bull**** in the past he simply couldn't sign for the fight with Waldo in July guaranteeing a unification and sidestepping his own mandatory as Waldo has signed to fight in April against Chisora and might not have the belt come July. It's that simple.

Now whilst no-one gives Chisora a hope in hell of winning on paper all things are considered equal and the fight can not be signed at this time. Haye's plans to retire don't factor in for the cancellation of the proposed July date.

Haye seems to have three choices, if he wants to fight Wlad.

    1) He can try to make a fight with his mandatory in March.

    2) He can try to negotiate with the WBA to be more flexible. After all, the WBA will bend any rule at all - if it suits them.

    3) He can vacate his belt and sign to fight Wlad. He can then hope that the fight with Wlad actually happens.

    Then we have possibility 4)
Haye may also have a choice, where he can negotiate to fight with Vitali instead. Once Vitali has beaten Solis in March, Haye may have time to still sign for the unification with the WBC and this will fulfil his WBA obligations. I am not 100% sure that is right.

Given how much Haye has said he wants to fight the brothers, then any one of these 4 options would be reasonable. Consider how thoroughly he chased them, how much he has gone on about this obsession.
Consider how he even crashed a charity event - a friggin charity - to get into the Klitschko's faces. (I hope he paid a large donation to that charity afterwards. Otherwise he ****ed up a charity event to line his own pockets, which is sickening)

If, however, he is not absolutely 100% dedicated to the idea, then option 3 is a high risk one. Sure, other fighters do vacate belts for this sort of fight, but you can't blame them for not doing so.

Although Haye's options are limited, it looks like he has turned his back on even considering any of them.
Similarly Wlad obviously has no intention of moving the fight with Chisora.

The only chance of Wlad and Haye ever fighting now, would seem to require Haye to reconsider his choice to retire.

Spot on. The Harrison fight was a bull**** smokescreen from start to finish as is the Chisora fight - although Chisora actually believes he has a chance given the Corey Sanders demolition.

This is true - why not just make it your plan to retire after fighting a klitschko?

Saying that, Wlad is already lining up a fight with Adamek for later this year. Why is he doing that if the Haye fight could take place then? The whole thing is bull****.

I personally think that Chagaev won't be the mandatory, the logical solution is the top ranked WBA contenders, however. Boystov is injured, Valuev is getting surgery, Povetkin seems to be yellow and Ustinov is K2 promoted...could it be Rahman? o_O

Whatever happened to the great "step aside" for the mandatory?

That annoyed me too. But I think they're just securing Adamek to fight a Klitschko - be it Vitali or Wlad. The one who's not fighting Adamek, will be the one who's free to fight Haye. They're just being very proactive in filling up their schedules, and collectively wiping all potential challengers out.
