Job done. Very accomplished and professional performance. Ruiz was tough as hell...as expected.

Eh? Don't be daft! Ruiz has a massive head that was a cast off from the Easter Island builders. He can take a punch from anyone but he was heavily rocked several times, including going flying in the 1st. He was also just a feathers touch from KO'ing Valerie Valuev too, which is no mean feat! Nah, Haye definitely has power. He's still one of the biggest hitters in the division!

That was decent HW fight IMO. Was a good workout for Haye, Ruiz proved he's no pushover. Now hopefully there's no more fannying around and we get the Klit's next!

I don't think his power has carried over from CW to HW. Its similar to when Benn went from MW to SMW, never quite had the same explosive KO power at SMW.

I just nipped out to buy a ford mondeo, a camera, some ronseal and a few bottles of magners.

That was a very good display from Haye. I await the shenanigans from the Klits with some interest.

Does he not have a rematch with Valerie contracted first?

Nah, Haye has decent but not great power at HW. What he does do though is pick his punches so well and so quickly it has a stunning rather than knockout effect.

When I think of heavyweight power I think of Lewis KOing Rahman, I just feel that if Haye lands the same 1-2 it doesn't know his opponent spark out.

Good performance though, shown he can keep his discipline and fight smart for the whole fight which is what he'll have to do against Wlad/Vitali. He's the only one out there who could make things difficult for them. I'd have him as a very live underdog, 60/40 or so :)

Yep. This has been my main worry but far more encouraging is seeing him fight differently yet again. Took some big shots from a real hw as well.

I thought that there was some talk of a rematch against Valuev?

If there is, I'm sure the Kilits will do all in their power to avoid him.

He did well, but he left himself very open and got tagged quite much.
He needs to tighten it up, work the rounds more..
At one point i thought he wasn't ready for the Kllits, but how would his power do against them big Klits?????

Haye looked puffed up after - took a few more shots than he should have. That said, as I'd thought, Ruiz's jab was an issue for Haye occasionally, but this is just nit-picking at a great performance.

He was calm, patient, boxed beautifully and showed his power when he did land. I thought Ruiz might have lasted till the end, but Haye was putting a beating on him by that point and he'd have just gotten bashed up.

    First post...

Really enjoyed the fight, it was a lot better than I was expecting. Haye definately has something about him at Heavyweight, and doesn't miss with a lot. Ruiz came to fight and did himself proud considering Haye looked like a beast offensively, although he was outclassed at times. I'm not sure if Haye could take the amount of punches he took tonight from Wladimir though.
