I know that many fight fans couldn't give a toss about this, but I strongly believe that the ring announcer is an important part of the whole nights entertainment. If it wasn't then Buffer and Lennon wouldn't as popular as they are. Hayemaker are new on the scene, they seem to be doing a lot of things right, they are gambling on some big matches for their boxers and Setanta are putting on some great shows, for me Sky's FFN seems very jaded next to Setanta's presentation. However, that's now four televised Hayemaker shows and the last three have featured the worst MC's that I have seen with the exception of Mark Burdis. The guy doing the Haye Barratt fight, reading his notes off a massive clipboard was awful and the bloke that did tonight and Liverpool, Dominic Frisbee (made up name) is a joke. He looks like a character from a period drama with his velvet jacket and white bow tie. He flufs his lines big time and at the end he asks for a round of applause for the "loser", I ****ing hate that term, big time :verysad It's the most disrespectful thing that you can call anyone, especially a boxer I believe that it's up to the promoter to supply the MC but it's about time that Setanta took charge of this because obviously this is one side of the promotion that Hayemaker don't give a toss about. They are doing a great job in all the other departments, a real breath of fresh air, but sort out the ring announcer, there's got to be better out there.
