I thought it curious he stopped the fight when the bell had sounded and Chisora could have been on his stool for 60.

tbf...non-title fight...10 rounder...that stoppage is more than fair.

i'd expect a referee to give a bit more leeway in a title fight, but on this occasion: that's a good stoppage.

"Haye's Camp Squabbled over Refs and Ended Up With That Guy?"

Why not? They ended up with a ref who basically gave the fight to Haye. He was the perfect choice.

The knockdown happened with about 7 seconds left on the clock. the ref waved it off at the count of 8.

Makes zero sense unless he was counting by 1.5's

You guys that are complaining about the ref are dancing on the head of a fcuking pin. No ref could have saved Chisora this night.

 Nice 2:49 second round ref :patsch If we didn't know any better it looked like the ref was stopping the fight in favor of Chisora.

    Great post, thanks.

Yep, just as I remembered it: No question the ref was protecting Haye. Had that round gone a full 3 minutes, there's a VERY good chance Haye would have been KO'd.

Add in the incredibly fast count that Chisora later received, and the inappropriate stoppage when Chisora was clearly OK after beating that fast count, and the whole thing is quite obvious.

Why isn't the Chisora camp screaming about this? They must have been paid off ahead of time.

I was thinking the same thing. Not sure Chisora is really in the position to be causing another stir up
