As a cruiserweight, he did what he had to do. It's impressive how he cleaned out the division.

However, as a heavyweight he has been a complete fraud.

I'll take true British beauty icon Amy Whinehouse over these ugly Americans any day and night:

I agree, however, people need to realize that he did not clean out the CW division. Steve Cunningham was one of the major title holders and would represent a significant challenge to Haye. Out of all the supposedly great fighters Haye defeated, none of them are as active or significant as Cunningham is now (actually no one whom Haye defeated is in the current CW picture). And had Haye stuck around for more than a single title defence, he would also had to contend with Adamek. Anyways his CW run, albeit short on title defences, was pretty good. His HW run has indeed been lethargic, uninspiring, long on words and short on action.

Indeed, he very nearly lost. And that would have been the end (death) of his HW career.

It's hard what to make of Haye's career right now. Good stint at CW as champ, although short. And now his HW career is more or less a joke. But he's pretty much all the poofs across the pond have to cheerlead for. I expect them to make Calzaghe like threads kissing his ass....

Again, he would be the best fighter Wlad has fought. Says a lot about Wlad's resume.

Aside from that, if you get "universal agreement" that a fighter is "overrated", surely that's a contradiction?
