Hayes chances

  1. Who wins

    Haye v povetkin

    Haye v pulev

For me they anything other than easy fights
I like david and he has a tonne of ability but careful matchmaking means he has never beaten a heavyweight as good as these two

Davids speed and finishing are world class but a lack of stamina and a tendancy(heavyweight division only)to drift through rounds, taking chances only when necessary mean he is going to be tested by a rough heavy with good workrate and chin

If they were to happen tomorrow i would fancy david to beat pulev on points by hitting and moving and not engaging in toe to toe(maybe a late breakdown)

But for me povetkin is 50 50 fight at the moment depending on povetkins next performance

And before everyone says how good he is,i agree at cruiser david was top class but at heavyweight he has only looked devestating in spells and wins over monte barrett, john ruiz, audley harrison and a lacklustre win over nikolai valuev dont add up to much at all

  2. I still think he wins both.

  3. Forgot to put in chisora, his best performance as a heavyweight admittedly

But for a champion elect surely he should be putting del boy (game but limited) away

    Vitali didn't

Anyway, at this point Haye beats anyone not named Wlad, and he'd ruin Povetkin. Pulev and the rest are too unproven but don't see any of them really testing Haye.

Well he did put Chisora away fairly easily after a year out f the ring. Chisora has a good chin and he got fattened by Haye.

I see him beating Pulev with ****in ease aswell. Could see a fit motivated Povetkin causing him 1 or 2 problems but Haye still beats him. For me Haye is the best Heavyweight outside of the Klits.

His HW performances, bar Wlad, have all been decent. Slug-fest with Monte Barrett, good win over Valuev, gave John Ruiz a hiding, splattered Harrison as soon as he felt like it, and hammered Chisora to pieces.

Barrett, Ruiz and Valuev would have beaten Chisora. So I don't how anything other than sentimentality can see him as the best on Haye's ledger.

The only outright bad Haye performance, IMO, is against Wlad. He just didn't have the size, style or chin to risk coming inside against such an efficient, accurate and powerful puncher.

I'd pick Haye to batter Povetkin and Pulev.

  8. Im sorry but based on what

Pulev and povetkin are genuine threats to haye

Haye is exciting and leaves a lasting impression with his world class finishing but im not sure he is that much better than everyone bar the klitschkos which seems to be the considered opinion

Hope im wrong as at the moment he is by far our best chance of success
2 years and im hoping fury and price bring their different qualitys to the top of the division

Id pick Haye to win both fights. Not easy fights but they are ones he is more than able to win.

  10. Chisora isnt the best name on his resume at heavy its for me his best performance he looked lean, sharp and heavy handed when he is in the mood he is fantastic

  11. Haye
    Barrett
    Valuev
    Ruiz
    Harrison
    Chisora

    Povetkin
    Rahman
    Huck
    Chageav
    Chambers
    Byrd
    Donald

    Pulev
    Ustinov
    Dimitrenko
    Sprott
    Skelton
    Walker

Considering David has had more fights i think his record isn't that much hotter than the others bearing in mind pulev has only just started out at championship level

    Haye would execute Povetkin.

The last five years of his career have been car crash stuff.... he looked a really good prospect at one point but everything seems to have left him. Footwork, defence, power... everything.

If you're stationary with little defence against Haye you're going over, and early.

    Haye TKO2.

Pulev.... a much better fighter for me. Can't really say I've seen enough of him against speedy, powerful fighters, so I'd have to reserve judgement on it for now.

Pulev has one very good attribute that always causes Haye problems: a jab. It would likely be tactical early on until Haye found the angles he needs to land his left hook or his right hand.

  14. Pulev has a very good jab and is freakishly strong he has taken on much bigger men and beat them down
He lacks real experience in the pros but was a good amateur

I think David starts favourite but fury should stay well away from pulev a man who could negate tysons strengths

Povetkin isn't all that to be honest- Huck gave him a tough fight so Haye would likely beat him early doors.

Pulev is a totally different proposition- he has a decent jab, can punch and from what I've seen has a decent chin. And he has a lovely girlfriend. Haye would have probably edge a points decision via his work rate but I can't see many lining up to fight Pulev to be honest.
