Yes, had that been in the pros he would have been knocked out... the ref there counted a knockdown as soon as Haye wobbled.

I don't see how there's any way to possibly know that. Looks just like any other standing 8 count in an amateur bout to me. Are we assuming that anytime anyone takes a standing eight count in an amateur bout they would have been knocked out otherwise?

I have not seen the Carl Thompson fight so i wont comment on that.. the Mormeck knock down seemed a bit random (might not be the right word). Mormeck caught Haye off balance in the first place without hurting him. Then Haye was against the ropes after just being off balance, allowing Mormeck to land some hard blows, and most would have gone down from that.. Noone should put too much into that.

Let people think what they want to think. Most of the people posting this **** are welsh calzaghe bandwagon jumpers who only watch Joe Calzaghe fights. Or americans who have never seen Haye.

Yeah Haye's been down but none them have been concussive knock downs or anything and look at all the people he's laid out

Haye wasn't throwing anything back and was just backing into the ropes.... he was badly hurt and most likely would have been stopped in the pros.

I'm always caught in 2 minds with Hayes chin.

On the one hand, Carl T never knocked him out, he was very wobbly and was trying to fight on. Not bad for someone who was "KTFO".

I never saw the other fight where he was dropped by the temple shot, one of the few I have never seen.

I was also more impressed than worried when he got up during the Mormeck fight.

Having said all that, my gut instinct does cause me to worry during his fights.

To sum up: Haye's chin isn't as bad as made out, but not great either.

Doesn't matter as much as people think as Enzo's "transit van power" is a myth. Big puncher, not massive. 1 temple shot to Mark Hobson does not make him the white Earnie Shavers.

Yes, so you said. I disagreed (or at least see no evidence to convince me).

I'd be a lot easier convinced that, if it was in the pros, Haye would have finished Solis off in the first 30 seconds. He was a lot more dramatically wobbled.

I dont think Hae has great chin but I dont think its glass either. I do think it will improve when he goes up to heavy.I am really looking forward to the fight. Haye to win imo but you never know if Enzo takes him to the later rounds.

He was getting a pretty sustained beat down and was tiring, but I wouldn't describe him as badly hurt (it just looked like continuing the fight was pointless), Solis was hurt far worse earlier in the fight and I don't believe his chin is glassy.

im a welshman and although i am backing enzo to win i still thinking that haye will come out victorious, people are reading too much into hayes chin, ali got knocked down by cooper, so what it happens to the best. at the end of the day, if someone is weight drained they are vulnerable in several aspects. haye can ruffle a few feathers in the heavyweight division, he would be fastere than anyone in the division, in better shape then evryone in the division, hits as hard as most people in the divsion whilst having a better punching technique. whos to say all of these attributes wont improve as he moves up, realistically in the heavyweight division these days haye wont be coming into his prime for possibly another 5-7 years. instead of getting on his back perhaps some people should give him a little support and hope he can actually bring some interest to the worst division in boxing atm. i know i would rather see david haye go in against wlad throwing punches non stop and get knockd out in the first few rounds rather than see like wlads last showing. so the next time people start slating haye just think he could be the next big thing. so although i want enzo to win i still think it would b better for boxing if haye won a 12 rounder with a couple of knockdowns each neither man could be slated then.
