Haye getting decked - yes, decked - by Monte Barrett is HARDLY the "sole" reason on which I base my argument. The fact that Haye hit the canvas multiples times as a CRUISERWEIGHT also shows what questionable punch resistance he has. :nod A knockout waiting to happen at HW, nothing more. :yep You heard it here first!!:bbb
Lookout Sherlock Holmes. Don't toot your own horn too much sport, its pretty clear he has a questionable chin and will get stopped at some point. What makes him a breath of fresh air is that he is offensively very dangerous and that makes for a very exciting fighter.
Haye is the heavyweight version of Jeff Lacy before the Calzaghe fight. He will get exposed soon enough.
I said before the fight that if Haye had trouble with this guys power that he should go back down...Monte isnt a true gauge of heayweights, he is small and doesnt fight hard. Haye should really rethink his furture.
I feel for Haye. Especially if he's buying his own hype. I see him rushing into a title match way too early and getting not only ko'd, but ruined for life.
He didn't seem to have any trouble with his power though :? He even took a flush cheapshot while he was sitting on his arse unprotected for good measure...
Dude, don't get me wrong - I LOVE fighters like this. Earnie Shavers was my favorite fighter as a kid; as a young man, I'm was a HUGE Tommy Morrison fan. But ya gotta call a spade a spade with this guys - they are do or die fighters, who are as likely to get laid out cold in any fight as they are to take the other guy out. I laugh as those who think Haye is anything more than that as a HW - it's total hype. And that's exactly WHY I will continue to point out just HOW shaky his chin is!!!
It was clearly a slip, anyone thinks otherwise then they're are trying to clutch at straws. In his interviews he openly admits that hes gonna taste the canvas occasionally, but he also knows that if he detonates that right of his on anyones chin then it could well be goodnight for his opponent...(for Wlad especially)
:rofl Laughable He had no trouble with Barretts power apart from being hit while down after balance/slip/kd whatever you wanna call it. 30 seconds later Barrett gets ktfo. Great post though, you seem really smart atsch
