After watching the video slowed down and repeatedly I'm even MORE convinced that Haye does not take a HW punch well. It looked to me that Barrett - way past his prime and never known as a hard hitter - caught Haye with a glancing blow to the top of the head, which then caused Haye to fall backwards onto the canvas. Where I come from, that's a knockdown. And when a glancing blow puts a fighter down like that - that's some seriously SUSPECT whiskers, folks.
The "KD" is slowed down in this gif http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104570 you can clearly see the barrets punch goes OVER hayes head. I was also there live, but I couldnt tell at the time.
The punch didn't even land, they showed about 5 replays on the broadcast after the fight, Barrett threw a total fresh air shot it didn't even clip Haye then Haye slipped then Barrett punched him after he slipped when he was lying on the ground.
From what I saw, I might tend to agree with this. I'd like to see more of Haye as a heavy before I pass judgment.
Interesting avatar. Why don't you explain to all the boys & girls just who that is and why you selected it. :verysad (google: Eugene Terre'Blanche)
Haye did not impress me at all. He's fast, and that's about it. I saw no more power from him than I saw from Barret. I would really say that they were very even on power, but Haye was faster. Based on what I saw, if Haye goes for either K-Bro next, it will result in his second loss via complete destruction.
Here's a 5MB WMV version of the incident; normal speed and slow-mo. Rather than upload it to YouTube and have it compressed to ****, I've whacked it onto sendspace. http://www.sendspace.com/file/07z0ig
Whether the 'punch' from Barrett clips the top of Haye's head is one argument. Most angles suggest that it missed and went over his head. But even if it did clip the top of his head, that's completely irrelevant to your point. You can see from the video that both of Haye's feet slip from under him before the punch is even thrown. He was going down no matter what. So, whether the punch clipped him or not, it didn't 'cause' anything that wasn't happening anyway. Actually, you should be impressed, because the shot that Barrett lands while Haye is sitting on the canvas is about the best thing he landed all night, and Haye took it comfortably enough...
Peter does jack ****, he is a fat arse plodder and 100% disgarce and would never catch Haye. He moves as if he has hypothyroidism and has not been given any thyroxine.
