It hasn't gotten stronger, it just never was as weak as many people alleged it was.

The way some people talk about Haye makes you think that the first contact of a glove with his face would be lights out, and all this only because he punched himself out against Carl Thompson and got stopped...

    ...on his feet.

The punch put him down period. I am fine with Haye, he may end up big time maybe, but he needs to fight top competition, he didn't do it to get a title shot so he has to do it now. Until then there will be plenty of us that think he is completely over rated and dodging big punchers.

Barrett arguably had him down. I think there's still question marks.

I was about to say the same thing for Khan actually. They make it sound like he can only fight as long as nobody throws a punch, whereas in reality his main problem was rushing into punches which he doesn't do anymore.

I've seen Haye go down easily but has he ever been hurt?

Has he ever suffered a heavy knock down where it looked like he was about to go down again?

Because some fighters can keep gettin' knocked down all day and get back up for more. I'd say that's a tough chin compared to a guy that goes down once and can't fight on.

nah khans chin is terrible, the grazing punches barrera and the ukranian guy landed had him holding on and panicking.

I'd say against Mock. He went down heavy then, but he still won the fight. It was just a perfect punch, basically, so it can be excused.

The other knockdowns in his career have been pretty soft. He's never looked like he was ready to go in those fights.

And Khan's chin is still glass and always will be. It's not looked any better at 140lbs, though his defence has helped. Barrera still hurt him though, off a nothing shot. That shouldn't be happening. I wouldn't be suprised if Malignaggi hurt Khan.

because of ruiz penchant for hitting in the clinch and hayes vunerabilty against temple shots, i picked ruiz to win via rsf temple shot.

ironic that it was haye hitting ruiz around the ears and back of the head that got the job done.

Ruiz was turning his head, although Haye did throw one very naughty punch after Ruiz slumped onto the ropes:good

I basically agree with whats being said, the majority of Hayes kd's were where he was off balance and it would seem to be temple shots that bother him rather than chin shots... being weight drained can severly effect your chin.

Cotto is an example of a guy who seemed to get more durable when he moved up.

His chin definitely improved with the move up in weight. But I still get the feeling he's going to go to sleep every time he gets touched.

Well I wasn't most. I don't really care whether he has a glass jaw or not, I'm primarily concerned about his defence. Last night didn't confirm for me anything I didn't already know. He has world class offense, with great punching power. However I'd like to see how his defense holds up against the best offensive fighters of the division.
