Does anyone know if Haye has had hand trouble before? My one worry is that Haye will land a huge right hand Hayemaker on Valuev's massive head who wont even flinch ,and Haye will break a bone in his hand. Thoughts? I started thinking this the other week? If as so called "arm puncher" like Tyson Fury can break his hand, what about a genuine power puncher like Haye?
Good point, hadn't thought of it. Valuev does have a ****ing huge boney head. Gotta make sure they wrap his hands well and I think he wears Grant gloves which give a fair bit of protection. Not much you can do about it though...just hope they hold up.
He does have problems supposedly but I don't recall a fight where he's actually broken a hand.He wears the Grant gloves for that reason I think
Framboxer (as always) adds nothing to the thread. Grant Gloves help out, as previously mentioned. I think a Thompson will happen again, Haye throws everything and knackers himself out. Hope not though
That is becoming my concern thaty Haye goes mental looking for the early stoppage , throws a millian punches and ****s himself ! I think he can get Valuev out of there but by breaking his heart not his jaw
The body, the body, the body. I think the head hunting schtik is a ruse. I think Haye's going to try and bend the big fkker in half.
yeh i think bad hands is the reason he has had so little fights, and also why he wants out of boxing in a few years time. think about it, the guy throws every punch 100%, theres no range finding punches like most boxers everything is a bomb.
He damaged a bicep in the 2002 Commonwealth Games and had to withdraw but I don't recall a real history of hand trouble with the man, although all boxers endure hand problerms at some stage or another. I cannot see Haye beating Valuev, by the way, not after just one fight at heavy (two, if you count the pretty hapless Bonin). Holyfield, another former cruiser champ, of course, had eight or nine fights at heavy before taking on Douglas.
To be honest Haye looked in serious pain with his hands when Paul O'Grady punched his mits. I am getting very worried now.
Just seen Haye on Sky Sports News showing his right hand off and it looks swollen to **** in comparison to his left
