Not about life time bets. There are a ton of posters, especially for Froch that all have join dates about the time he won his title. I almost get the feeling there was a 'campaign' of sorts to get these people to join ESB to support him. They have also gravitated to Haye. When Froch loses, and he will lose, half of them will be gone. When Haye loses, the other half will be gone. No bets needed. They aren't boxing fans. They are fans of Froch and Haye, but ONLY if they win. Right before Pavlik's fight with Bhop I suddenly saw a lot of unfamiliar posters supporting Pavlik. Never saw them again afterwards... :-( You will see my friend.....
Fair points but provide me with names of these posters -both for Froch and Haye then your post becomes credible in my eyes:good
While one pops to mind, I won't 'out' anyone in particular. Just as you read the posts, look at the join date. You will see what I mean. You will see a lot of posters with join dates of November 2008 and later in Froch and Haye related threads. I follow SMW since Kelly will probably fight there sooner or later. Kinda got drawn into the 'heavies' and noticed a lot of the same people.
Pavlik should fight some middleweights before moving up and neutralising his size advantage and not 154lbers
First of all, I am not a hater and neither a Haye or Wlad fan.I really do not care who wins the Haye-Wlad matchup. From an objective point of view it would be more beneficial for the boxing world if Haye wins. In the US we need a charasmatic boxer with an exciting style. However, I have serious doubts Haye can pull it off as Wlad is clearly the favorite. The Thompson and Austin fights were one sided, boring. In the the Brock fight nothing happened much before the KO, boring. The Peter fight was a little exciting but that had more to do with Peter.
No need to get so ridcoulously offended and I certainly won't **** off just because the great Chef says so. There is no basis for your claim that you have inside knowledge.Your claim is therefore irrelevant,
"I know the truth and thats all that matters". Well, but you did not seem content to keep the "truth" for yourself, you wanted to let everybody know here that you have insider knowledge which leads me to believe that it does matter a lot to you what other members here think of you and your little story.
When I said "I know the truth", I was talking about my job with team Klitschko Some things I kept to myself because I had to, some stuff I shared to try and correct the facts that were out there I am who I say I am in team Klitschko and I dont have to prove anything to you. Believe me, dont believe me, thats your right.
No, I think he wanted a bigger name that he could pass off as a top 10 guy but still beat easily. He brushed aside Barrett earlier because he thought he could get a better name. There was talk at the time that he was negotiating with guys like Rahman, Maskaev, Toney, even Kevin Johnson, etc. There were also rumors that Haye was tough to deal with money-wise and that he was claiming no one was willing to face him (I think Johnson said so), and the recent Wlad negotiations seem to support the money story (because it tool so long to do the deal). After Barrett took out Tye Fields quickly, I guess Haye figured he could say that Barrett's stock had risen since he first called him a journeyman (even though most fans would disagree) But after Haye called Thomson and Povetkin bums during his confontation with Wlad, he sure looked bad picking Barrett! But all means to an end - he's got his big-money fight with Wlad now.
Exactly-you said it yourself in the first line that Haye wanted a bigger name.Thats my point he wanted a bigger name.
OK, then we agree. I think Haye wanted a big name that he could look impressive against. Combine that with his media saavy and verbal attacks on Wlad, and he gets a big-money title fight by the most direct path. He just overstepped a bit when he was so loud about how he was going to take on a top 10 heavy right away. And again I don't think he has any fear, but if he weren't so good at self-marketing and he had to build up to a title fight it's possible he could get derailed before he hits his big payday - so he wanted a more direct route.
