Hayes mind games

It's clearly very effective especially as Bellew is no doubt missing his family immensely during the training camp. I don't think fighters should be telling other fighters they're gonna put them in hospital though. Even though two fighters might despise each other, there's normally a solidarity in not wanting another fighter to get 'seriously hurt' like the 3 well documented events of 2016.

 

As soon as Bellew feels Hayes true power, he is going to be looking for a way out, no doubts about it.

He slates Hayes last opponents, such as Arnold 'The Cobra'. I assure you though that Bellew hasn't got the heart to pick himself up off the floor the number of times Gjergjaj did once he gets hurt.

 

To be fair to bellew he has always got up when he's been floored in fight, if haye was boxing at CW his whole career took 2 years off and came back to fight bellew ask your self who would be favourite. If bellew wins this fight i would not be supprised atall

 

I wonder if Haye knows the difference between Physiological, and Psychological ?

 

I don't like Haye but this is a mans game and all threats are part of the game. If tony can't handle it then he shouldn't have signed up for the fight! He broke the minute Haye mentioned hospital if you ask me.

Fair play to Haye, if Tony stiffens up with
fear which is likely then Haye will obliterate him in one round. He may do that anyway.

Tony should have fired back and said "I'm willing to die in the ring" or some made up macho bollocks but instead he showed Haye all his weaknesses and now Haye is cranking the heat up further. Easy night for David looking more likely.

Some of Tonys interviews almost look like he's asking Haye to go easy. "The most important thing is I get home to my family safe" - what sort of prefight talk is that? Of course we all hope Tony gets home safe to his family but you don't bloody say it in the build up to facing such a devastating puncher. He's just putting Haye more and more at ease which will make David flowy and extremely dangerous on the night.

 

Can't believe anybody is giving Haye credit for **** talking.

He says the same old stuff in every build up ( remember the headless Klitschko t shirt ? )

According to the BBC, Haye is worried about his safety at the O2, and wants a screen between himself and Bellew.

He's shown Haye a vulnerability for sure.
Bellew is putting himself through a gruelling training camp and is missing his family so he's probably feeling lonely and emotional and as such is an easy target for Haye at the minute. I'm sure he'll toughen up a bit a few days before the fight. Thing is, like Bellew says, the threats are just making him train and work harder to avoid that KO.

I really believe that Bellew will come out of this fight with a lot more credit than Haye does. Haye will not KO Bellew.

 

Bellew is not Wlad though. He doesn't have the skills defensively to keep away from Haye's big shots.

And based on interviews Bellew has done recently, he plans to go toe to toe. He said he'd rather go in 1 than go in 6 by being defensive.

 

How so?

 

What he says he's gonna do and what he actually does is very different most of the time bud. For example, he told everyone he was gonna gonna have a right smash up with Masternak, but on the night he fought on the back foot. He does has he's told by Coldwell.

He's not fighting the same Haye that fought Klitschko 6 years ago.

 

Fair point. Whenever you listen to Coldwell's mid round instructions, it's always along the lines of not being reckless, keeping it on the outside and being smart.

True. But as bad as De Mori and Gergjejejjg were, Haye proved he still has his power, even if he's lost a touch of sharpness. I feel he only has to land with one decent power shot and Bellew will lose his discipline, open up and make it easier for Haye to land.. As he did against Brudov and Makabu. Once he gets hit he comes back swinging wildly, which i think is his downfall.

 

That's definitely the danger mate, he does lose his discipline at times and if he does that against Haye, he'll get put to sleep.

That punch at the press conference, I had to slow it down and keep looking at it. Unbelievable speed. We'll see what the rest of his tools are like on the night though.
