Haye's one punch KO power

I saw that program too.. Was good having a look back.. Not sure if haye has knocked anyone 'lights out' style... You seen any of his early fights? maybe he did then... For me he hits the hardest of all the heavyweights.

Surely pascal isint moving up again.. He's still Light heavyweight champion aint he?

 

I've wondered this myself. Think its just a fluke TBH, and perhaps a lot of early ref stoppages. Gurov was sparked pretty good.

He's not on a Tua/Briggs level of power anyway.

 

I reckon he"d knock me clean out!

What you have to keep in mind is that guy might have been stopped after the first knockdown in the UK with our refs.

 

He's got good power but he's no Arthur Abraham or Wladimir Klitschko

 

It is interesting possibly a speed thing ie he is able to land cleanly and somebody of his size with a heavy punch that lands cleanly will hurt but maybe he hasnt got that kind of pure raw concussive power that many people think he does. SO his opponenets are often hurt/knocked down are able to get up but are hurt enough to be finished off by a hard flurry. Still think he is a heavy hitter and most dangerous puncher

 

Enzo was pretty spaced out after Haye clobbered him, Valuev too, Ruiz has rarely been stopped...

Haye has had relatively few fights so maybe he's been fed less fodder.

I think he punches hard enough and with enough speed to do just fine.

My only reservation is his lack of ability to keep someone down - against Barrett and Ruiz, whilst taking plenty were probably able to continue for at least a while longer.

Having a British referee when you have a combo of speed and power is always an advantage, regardless of your accuracy as a puncher. Sometimes a ''whoosh'' felt by the referee is enough to intervene.

He just needs to raise his left hand a bit and use the jab more..... rather than just looking for the huge right hand every time.

 

He gets too reckless when he has an opponent. If he kept composed and keeps his punches short he could get more cleaner, quicker stoppages.
