Hayes power at heavyweight

  1. How do you rate it

Me I'd put him a little above heavy handed at the weight, he can obviously hurt anyone but I don't think he really has one punch ko power, it's strange though sometimes he hurts guys with grazing shots and at others his full on right hand doesn't do that much damage

I don't think he can rely on his power with chisora he will need to be sharp and accurate as he's ever been imo

Levels above Chisora's. For his weight I think he punches pretty hard but he certainly doesn't have a bigger dig than Wlad.

almost sparking out john ruiz with the first punch of the fight showed power, his power at cw was unmatched, and he took that up to hw, he managed to wobble snv and no one else has got close to doing that

I agree, but he then spent the next 9 rounds bludgeoning away, I think that was just a peach of a shot that he's rarely likely to land again

    Excellent stun power.

I think he probably makes his power look worse when trying to finish someone, when he has a tendency to crowd his man, get sloppy and spoil his own work. If he had more of Froch's finishing mentality (stalking, picking the right moment to unload) I think we'd see more clinical knockdowns, and his power would probably be rated higher (not that it's rated lowly at the moment!)

Hes a light hitting biatch. My missus hits harder but she has a 3 stone weight advantage and unlike Haye she doesnt run away for the 12 roonds.

    good but not great
KD puncher rather than KO puncher - hes a decent hitter at heavy not a monster but hes got enuff to hurt Derek with - the fact hes a faster puncher than most DC has faced maybe be crucial

Haye's power has always been more fast and painful as a punch to put someone's lights out (not concussive).
When he stops someone, it's almost always by TKO instead of a KO and that's just about the problem he has in the HW division. And why I think he can't keep Chisora off him.
He may hurt Dereck and even put him on his ass, but Dereck just keeps on coming much like Ruiz did only faster and with a much better chin.

    based on what?

Ruiz weren't glassy, and Chisora hasnt taken that many clean shots on the whiskers from power punchers

Haye has good natural power but his speed is his real weapon.

Evidenced by the fact he's the only man to put SNV on rollerskates, he must hit hard. That punch was a left too, if I recall correctly. He may not be George Foreman in terms of punch power but he's definitely leagues above Chisora.

    Speed is #1 weapon.

Danny Williams said only Tyson and Vitali hit him harder than Haye did(in sparring)

Doesn't matter for the Chisora fight because Haye will be landing at will and the stoppage is inevitable.

    Joke fight.

I won't be paying for it.
