    Ruiz perfected the hit and hold fight style and Wlad doesn't hold as much as people make it out.

    Yes, his inside game is not good, but it has nothing to do with his fearing being hit, but more to do with his length. He fights tall because he is so long.

    He needs to keep his opponents on the end of his punches and when they get inside of his reach, he ties em up. He doesn't jab grab like you and others make it out. He waits for his opponents to charge him before he grabs.

    Some call this a weakness, I call it a fine strategy for defending inside.

    Indeed he did, quiet a few times.

    Check out round 3, especially. Barrett cleaned Haye's clock several times (Davey-Boy just LOVES to drop his arms & stick his face forward, for some odd reason) and each time afterwards Haye grabbed on to Barrett for dear life. That's exactly the kind of holding that IS illegal, but the ref did nothing.

    I don't recall Barrett ever cleaning Haye's clock. I do believe that was a knockdown, and Haye was momentarily stunned, but I don't think he was in real trouble.
    What I had the problem with was the constant punching behind the head during the clinches, (most of which Haye himself initiated) and the ref only warning Barrett for it, who never did it except to retaliate.
