Nah, rumours are he wants to do Hollywood movies. Probably a remake of Gone With THE Wind or something like that...
He was supposed to be the entertainer but he hasn't delivered it except in Ruiz fight. Entertainment value between his and Klitschko's fights edges on brothers, regardless of few stinkers. Monte Barrett Nikolay Valuev John Ruiz Audley Harrison Hasim Rahman Juan Carlos Gomez Ruslan Chagaev Chris Arreola Kevin Johnson Eddie Chambers Albert Sosnowski Samuel Peter Shannon Briggs (yeah-yeah; brothers should be counted as individuals but that's not the case in reality) He has brought a lot of new fans to boxing, I'll give him that but at the same time he's done some damage too. After he's gone some new punk will start to wear the black hat and David will be forgotten pretty quickly. Vitali's retirement probably hits the division much more devastating even though it opens a path for undisputed champion.
Oceans 15. Danny Ocean with his crew teams up with two conman from England and does a biggest PPV heist in television history. Based on true story.
Sure, outside the ring with his constant sh*t talkings, but inside the ring? Just cause you don't like the Klitschko's style doesn't mean that by default Haye is entertaining. The Ruiz fight was ok i'll give you that, Ruiz was a punching bag but it was somewhat entertaining, but other than that? Seriously?
Adamek is a much more interesting fighter in the ring. Haye's just a loudmouth outside of it, that doesn't make him a "source of true entertainment."
I think he will retire. He seems comfortable enough with his achievements (lets not forget cruiserweight), recognises there aren't good fights out there except the Klitschkos and unless they agree at the negotiating table, there isn't much else left for him to do. He has said in a interview with Ringside he knows he will never be up with the ATGs even with a Klitschko win under his belt. If that is his attitude and the Klitschkos don't want to play his game, why not retire?
As for the this entertainment thing, I'll be the first to admit that his biggest fights at heavyweight haven't been that action packed. But go back and watch some of his Cruiserweight career and you'll find him more watchable than both Klitschkos put together.
Why not just retire now??..if that is his feelings!! Id say hes done more damage than good since he moved up to heavyweight.. inactivity..over the hill opponents..the harrison debacle. Honestly if he doesnt feel he needs to fight the klits, just retire!!
On the point of Haye being entertaining, in Barrett's entire career, it was the most anticipated bout. It was the most anticipated bout of Valuev's career. It was up there with the most anticipated of Ruiz's career, along with the bouts against Holyfield and Jones. It was the most anticipated bout of Harrison's career and, assuming he has his final two fights against Povetkin and Wlad, there would be far more interest in those bouts, than any others in their careers. Hate him if you want. The fact is, he's better for the sport than any other heavyweight.
What a tool.. Ruiz although boring had way more anticipated matches in his career. How about vs. Roy Jones Jr.( While Jones was king of boxing) or his fights with Holyfield to become first Latino Heavyweight Champ, while Holyfield was still considered relevant. barrett was 3-3 coming into that fight having lost to Cliff Couser earlier. More anticipated then when Wlad was hyped up by HBO as the next big thing and they met with records of 33-1 vs 23-1. Vaulev and Harrison nobody ever cared about so they don't count. And I assure you if Valuev ever got balls to step in the ring with a Klit it be more anticipated. The fact was everybody was just happy somebody would be able to run and take the title away from the walking slow-motion giant. As for Povetkin's potential match up vs him. Of course it be more anticipated since a title will be on the line, but those Bryd, and chambers fights were pretty big back then because of the eliminators and mandatory he passed up. The only place where Hayes fight with them has been more anticipated was in England. And that's understandable
Guys, stop the presses, Haye was the most anticipated opponent in Audley Harrison's career. PURE. ENTERTAINMENT.
