Haye was faster than I expected. He hits hard....but as I said a long time ago, a right handed haymaker is the slowest punch one can throw....then the over hand right, the next is a wide sweeping left hook.

Fastest punches are a jab, a classic long hook, a straight right, and a short hook, or a right cross about tied.

Haye was throwing from left and right field....and I was 'impressed' he actually had a jab....and used it twice....:patsch

He can't hook off the jab...

had he came in on Wlad more, he might well have been knocked down....

The problem with trying to egg the man on to over extend, is you got to be just out side his reach...and then throwing a 'slower' punch like a wide right hooking haymaker of a wide sweeping left hook, allows the guy to know it's coming.

Wlad stayed in balance and was able to move out of the way, with out having to recover his balance...and I'm not talking about staggering around the ring like Haye.

If you have too much weight on the outside of the foot, you have to move your balance to the center of your foot to be able to lift your foot. That is recovering your balance.

That eats up an eye blink before you can move...an eye blink in a boxing match is an eternity.

Haye has considerably better handspeed than Wlad. But he was throwing looping punches. And his jab was really, a weak flashy jab which he used on very few occassions.
But when talking speed, you also talk reflexes and footwork. Wlad matched Haye in both. Heck, I think he might have surpassed Haye in footwork, seeing as Haye's back touched the ropes multiple times.
Wlad is very fast for his size. Which is why he was able to stand up against Haye and really, make Haye miss most of his punches. Look at Valuev vs Haye, then look at Wladimir vs Haye. The difference is startling.

Mike Tyson, in his prime, had true speed. (and brilliant defense) His reach was even shorter than Princess Haye's, yet he had no trouble at all landing on tall opponents.

Haye has average speed, lousy technique, and no balls.

    End of story.

Yeah, silly me, I forgot about his widdle toe!

(the one he was dancing on, right through round 12.)

    So I stand corrected:

Haye has average speed, lousy technique, no balls, and lots of excuses.

So you are now comparing every fighter to Mike Tyson, and if they don't posses his speed, they are average?

Haye is quick, he looked quick on the night, Wlad only managed to land 24% of his shots with a massive reach advantage.

Wladimir said he was quick, Vitali also did. I think it's fair to say he was.

Flurry is right, he rarely posed a stationary target, and made Wlad miss with a lot of shots that he doesn't usually

Haye was faster. Vlad had the longer reach and waited to counterpunch.

Hayes punches were most of the times, poor, because he went for the wild Haymaker so often. Ironically, his jab was excellent, and he didn't make enough use of it.

Wlad would also have made short work out of Tysons opponents, maybe not as fast and explosive, but they would have gone down anyway. Haye would also have beaten many of them.

So please don't put down Haye so fast. He is fast, especially his defensive movements, his technique is also okay. Unfortunatly, he forgot the offense completly against Wlad, because he concentrated so much on not being hit. So the only thing I agree is, that he has no balls.
