Look I agree Haye sounds 'soft' for basically saying in the latest interview that he respects toney more but he wants to fight Rahman, BUT there was no "winner" in the Rahman/Toney fight (it's officially a NC) .IMO Haye is right: Rahman won the first 2 rounds, Toney won the 3rd by a wide margin but Rahman was already badly cut which would play into Toney winning the round because of decreased vision. Neither Toney or Rahman at this point should be elevated by anyone (Haye) to being top contenders b/c you couldn't tell much from their fight and both still have some serious question marks (Is toney punch drunk or was peter 2 an aberration? Can Rahman finally lose all the bulk/weight and fight an entire solid fight or is he just 'shot' at this point?)

I'd rather see Haye fight some of other name guys who called him out whom at least were pretty sure they're not shot: chambers, arreola (i think he called him out), even barrett

I agree that Toney is still a good operater, still deserving of respect and he would give Haye a decent workout but i honestly can not see him beating Haye. Seems to me that everybody is loving to hate on Haye at thye moment. I understand that at the moment his resume at heavyweight is nill but so what. He has said what he is going to do and so far in his career he has backed up his words. He is simply keeping his name in the public domain. A lot of boxers could take a leaf from his book and promote themselves more. Boxing needs such standout personalities to win back the casual viewers.

I like Haye! He's a young gun....easily marketed and has the charisma that causes people to want to watch him. Some want to see him win, so want to see him loose, but ALL want to see him one way or the other.

Which is pretty decent considering he hasn't really faught in the US and really hasn't faught at HW. Yet he's already gotten some BIG guys to call him out and the HW champ (Wald) to consider him!

He's good for the HW divison and boxing as a whole. But that has nothing to do with him being ready to BEAT these guys....especially the top guys.

I''m not knocking him b/c he's setting up his HW path to the ultimate prize! But he has to be successful in order to get that prize. Why else do you think he's not pushing for the fight with Toney when Toney is BY FAR the bigger name and beat the guy whom David wants to fight in Hasim? The answer is simple and right in front of everyone....Haye is not confident in beating James Toney.

Toney offers a HUGE ****** wrench in Dave's goals and he's not stupid enough to throw away his dream on a HIGH risk fight like James.

Haye's playing a dangerous "promotion" game IMO. At least in the States, people don't mind "**** talkers" but they need to back it up. If Haye takes this **** fight vs Rahman and let's say Rahman trains like he hasn't since 2002 and it's a close fight, Haye would have a hard time being taken seriously. Whether true or not, most fans think Rahman is "shot" and would expect a near dominant performance from a guy who is claiming to be the best HW. And I don't think Rahman is "shot enough" for Haye to clearly be able to "look great" against him. I think all of his "big talk" is setting himself up for failure because if he doesn't look great vs Rahman a lot of fans will be more 'turned off' than they are now and they will just ignore his "big talk." Sure his Brit fans will still hype him no matter what (unless he turns out to be Audley like), but the rest of the fans will lose interest. It'd be different if he was talking "all this big talk" and looking to fight whomever (not just guys he thinks are "name" and "shot enought" to clearly beat) and not taking a year (after a 1 round KO) to do it.

I agree it is a dangerous game but it offers the biggest reward in tthe least amount of time. Haye has publicly stated that he does not intend to hang around in the boxing game for too long. If everything works out he can be champion and retire a very wealthy man in maybe 2010. Is Rahman even a definite? I wont take it for definite until i hear an official announcement.

    The Question was...

"How many fighters are you a fan of who TKOd Holyfield, and made Hasim quit on the stool......???...that's a little more powerful than you'd like to give him credit for, I'm sure."

    This isn't the answer...

The only insult is the way you speak of All Time Great James "Lights Out" Toney...his power is proven, Sam Peter has attested to it, Rahman has attested to it...you are not a Pro HW boxer, and have not been hit by him...why would their expert opinions be discarded in favor of your fan biased fan opinion...???

The only card Rahman won 2 rounds on was Haye's...and now yours...I have this fight recorded...even the ******ed judge couldn't give 2 rounds to Rahman...

Toney has 1 stoppage at Heavyweight where Holyfield beat the count and his corner threw in the towel. He has no power at Heavyweight. Those are the facts.

Again, you would have us discount expert opinion of those who have been hit by him, because you believe your opinion is, "the facts."

Toney has proven HW Power...you couldn't name a fighter who has TKOd Holyfield and made Rahman quit on the stool...but we can name a whole **** load who haven't...those are the facts.

LOL, let me tell you one thing if I want to listen to testimonials about power it won't be from a guy with a Glass Jaw like Hasim Rahman that is for sure.

It is not my "opinion" that Toney has 1 stoppage (corner not KO) at Heavyweight. It is a fact.
