People keep saying that he's going to run because he came in very light. I think he just wants to be as quick as he possibly can to land a big shot. Haye's weight and punching power have nothing to do with each other because his power comes from his explosiveness. For example, Arreola's punching power comes mainly from his weight. In my opinion Haye is just as heavy a hitter as he was against Ruiz.
That would be a major problem for him then, cause he couldn't get Ruiz outta there. And don't expect a premature stoppage in this bout if Wlad goes down.
He broke Ruiz' orbital bone. Wlad went down from the wind of Sanders' punches. Wlad is not a warrior.
But not knocking out "Tua's *****" Ruiz and only having 1 regulatory knockdown in a fight in wich Ruiz litteraly walked into Haye's punches doesn't give much hope. just pointing that out. Don't get me wrong, I really expect him to do better than his bout against Ruiz cause I can't believe that was his actual best.
The lack of sparring in the build up didnt help Haye v Ruiz. Sparring has not been a problem in this camp.
Weight also effects your ability to take a punch. Wlad is a very heavy puncher and Haye will not be able to take those punches long. This I think his camp knows and the plan looks like to try and move the whole fight. Only problem with this is that Wlad is not a plodding giant like Valuev, he will be able to keep pressure on him and Haye should tire out. Not long now to find out.
He's in the best shape of his life, so I'm guessing he hits his hardest. Even if that ten pounds was extra lean muscle - which I seriously doubt - it doesn't mean he was more powerful. Power isn't just muscle, if at all - it's the speed and the punching practice put in. Anyway, that 222 against Ruiz was probably not even extra muscle. For an example, peak Tyson's weight ranged from 213 to 221. His power was the same at both weights.
