Anyone else feel his win over Mormeck for WBC/WBA undisputed crown pretty underrated by many?

He is king of his division having viciously knocked out the long term number one, who was a very good champion. And at only 26 with about 20 fights. Its really quite an impressive feat.

Thing is nobody seems to care much.

the fight just got zero press coverage and almost wasn't shown at all.

then you have outspoken wankers like FW who use regular newspaper columns to further downplay the achievement.

so yes, i think the achievement is underated but mostly only by casual / none boxing fans.

The achievement speaks for itself, anyone who knows boxing knows that David Haye is the man.

His star will truly shine once he starts moving up the Heavyweight ladder.

Very underrated win, partly due to the fact that Setanta didnt advertise the figth well and only bought it a few days before the fight. Warren holds alot of power with his newspaper articles, and alot of casual fans will be left with the impression Macca is the one being ducked by Haye and that Macca has somehow achieved more..

I think anyone who knows boxing doesn't underrate the win.

It was "live" wasnt it - on setanta?

Its been lost due to it being the filling to a Calzaghe Kessler & Hatton Mayweather sandwich. Three fights in 5 weeks that are basically once in 5 year fights.

How many Unifiction fights have we had in the last 5 years?

Which is laughable at best. Macca is nothing but a hype job in my opinion destined for a diet of more has-beens (Braithwaite) and never-were's (Bobby Gunn - Man, he even sounds like he's out of a Rocky movie!!!). As many have rightly said above, Frank Warren continues to use his column to undermine the achievements of some of our true boxing stars (Hatton, Haye) and beat the drum for hype jobs such as Macca and Khan and is a lot to do with what's wrong with British boxing. Meaningless defences of meaningless titles to make him endless millions.

not underrated at all, as Frank Warren says it was a lucky come form behind win over a faded, unfocused and always overhyped champ. Enzo has been cleaning out the division for a while.

Agreed, while Macca has been talking a good fight Haye has been going out and doing the business, becoming the best Cruiserweight in the world. Haye achieved more against Mormeck than Macca has his entire career.
