this article shows that PBC has lost 45% of its intial value, considering it got 450 million, it must have lost around 200 million so far. Waddle and reed are also doing poorly and you never know when they might pull the plug. Also viewing figures are going down instead of up. Things don't look good

Also top rank have won the initial part of its lawsuit against haymon and pbc saying they are violating the Mohammed Ali act. It also means that top rank lawyers now have the right to examine all of pbcs financial records and all documents. This isn't good imo for haymon as it is quiet obvious he is running the whole show and top rank lawyers are bound to find something against him. I mean remember the Chavez Jr jr cheque directly from haymon paying him for the fight, that he had to take down very quickly? im sure they will find plenty more evidence like this. Its a shark move from Arum, but this will be a very dirty game. And I think Arum wins because he is the dirtiest of the lot

Contrary to squawks and clucking from the chicken coop, PBC and Al Haymon are doing just fine.
PBC is progressing right along schedule and they still have over $400M in the bank.

Those who are really in trouble are,

TR, who is losing their #1 cash cow and left with lower tier, low revenue talent.

GBP, who is trying to shield and build their only cash cow, Canelo.

Roc Nation, who has spent a lot of money on top talent but won't realize any ROI for another 3-4 years.

K2, who lost their top earner's positioning and makes peanuts off of their hype jab, Golovkin.

Agreed on the nonsensical petty grudges that persist between rival factions who refuse to work together. That's disgraceful from all parties involved in such practices, and seems to act against their own interests, IMO.

But I definitely do not hope they close shop, as I'm fond of the additional boxing coverage that PBC has provided for fans.

Considering that Haymon doesn't seem like he is willing to mend things with HBO, and considering the two more prestige promotional companies have been put at odds with Haymon Promotions, I do hope they close shop and someone with more business sense fills in the void.

What Haymon is doing doesn't work, not in business, not in government, not in society.

Its almost the way socialism ruins countries.

If they are trying to monopolize, and continue to act in a manner that prevents other fighters from facing the best, then yes, I hope they rott in hell.

K2 is well positioned with Golovkin, a seemingly growing interest in Roman Gonzalez, and Usyk once the cash generating days of Wlad (who is still a huge draw globally) wind down. It also helps that they don't have a large stable to support, which cuts down on overhead. They're more of a niche promotion, but with a very sound pipeline and prospects- particularly if German promoters continue to shoot themselves in the foot, which gives them an edge in cherry picking new talent.

Roc Nation is trying to follow a similar model, but is having a tough time acquiring talent without paying a hefty premium for it. Ward is their flagship fighter moving forward, and the success of the promotion will rise and fall with him as Cotto is on his last legs, and Rigo is aging, as well. Simply put, I don't like their competitive position.

The shops with a ton of mouths to feed are under more pressure to produce cash cows to subsidize the rest of the stable, and have to dig deeper to find them. Think GBP and Alvarez. Top Rank losing Manny, so they need to preserve their next-gen stars like Crawford. Arum, snake that he is, at least deserves some credit for seeing the writing on he wall and trying to establish a global stable- Murata, Lomachenko, Shimeng (his attempt to turn Macau into the next Las Vegas failed not because Zhou lost, but because of corruption crackdowns crippling the gaming industry there), etc. It's always tough to outdraw GBP on the Latino pipeline, and that helps fill his stable out.

Ultimately, it's the fighters who will wind up losing if/when PBC shuts down. There isn't a surplus of cash being infused into the sport right now if you exclude them and Roc. Personally, I can't blame any fighter who simply takes the payday. Roc and PBC are really the only two playing that game, and as "new money", they really have no alternative.

What I do know is that if I'm a smaller player like Duva, I'm terrified that Kovalev (or my stable's equivalent of him) bails. He's been fighting for bargain purses, and it may only be a matter of time before he starts wondering why less established fighters are getting paid more than he does for easier fights.
