Haymon's fighters are to blame for their own poor matchmaking?

This article includes a Haymon contract and an interview with the trainer of Julian Williams: http://ucnlive.com/working-haymon/ Williams' trainer is very clear on how things work for Haymon fighters. The process is as follows:

Haymon: I can get you any fighter you think you can beat. Tell me who you want and when you want to fight.

Fighter/Team: We want this guy/this timeframe.

Haymon: You know your guy best, so if you think that's a fight you can win I'll make it happen.

That's pretty damn simple. And it makes Danny Garcia and Leo Santa Cruz look pretty weak. The only thing it doesn't mention is the process for requesting an in-house fight.

    Summary:

    1. If a Haymon fighter is sitting on the shelf, it's his own fault.
    2. If a Haymon fighter is taking weak matchups, it's his own fault.
    3. Some Haymon fighters are matching themselves tough, and Haymon is OK with that.
    4. We are unsure of whether the above applies to fights between two Haymon fighters.
    5. At worst, Haymon is spoiling his fighters by getting them large paydays for any fight they desire. This allows them to fight less frequently and match themselves soft.

    Case Study:
Leo Santa Cruz hasn't fought anybody, ever. Rigondeaux and Frampton have called him out. He's even called both of them out at various times. He had a TBD opponent for 17 Jan. Rigo made it clear he would be available. Santa Cruz' most recent comments on Rigo are "I heard that Quigg, he had surgery on his hand, so he's out until May. Frampton's going to fight against Avalos. Guillermo Rigondeaux, the people don't like his style, and I don't think that'd be an interesting fight. I wanna give a great show and a great fight for the fans. I think against Mares is more likely. His style and everything. They told me already that if everything goes well in this next fight, then they'll try to make the fight against Mares."

So the day that Rigo fights (today), Santa Cruz announces his fight with Jesus f*cking Ruiz, because he wants to put on "a great fight for the fans." And if you weren't paying attention, he intends to move up to 126 for his next fight, completely dodging Rigo/Frampton/Quigg.

This is an example of why Haymon is bad for the sport. He does his job, he does it well, but he does it so well that his guys can do stupid things like this and get away with it.

    Haymon saved Rigos career

Rigos glass jaw wouldve been shattered if Al uncaged LSC.

I don't have a problem with weak fights, just don't take them on a consistent basis. Sometimes guys need a tune up.

LSC has called out Frampton several times, saying he will even go to Belfast to fight him. Golden Boy puts the brakes on that fight, not LSC. Golden Boy has made that clear and LSC has made that clear. It's also clear from his quote above they will not let him fight Rigo, but are fine with Mares.

I'm OK with a tune-up once a year or so if you're fighting 3 or more times.

The problem is when guys like Sana Cruz ONLY fight tune-ups. What are they even tuning up for???

Garcia vs. Herrera was a tune-up. Then Salka was a tune-up...one year, gone. How do you tune up for a whole year when you haven't even lost??

As I see it, 95% of Haymon fighters have lost their momentum. GGG Made a fight in less than a week. Kovalev made a fight in less than a month. That's what you call fighters who wants to fight.

Haymon fighters are sitting around doing nothing, wasting their career away. Look at Mattyhsee and Garcia. No fighter wants to sit around...I blame Haymon.

Considering his got what 150 fighters I'm sure it's hard for him have the time to get fights for all his fighters to have them fighting regularly

I think Garcia severely over looked Herrera. He should've lost that fight but he did mentally so he seeked a confidence builder in Salka. He's only like 27 or so, he's young, a loss will affect him a lot.

Kovalev & GGG don't have the options or the paydays as any Heymon fighter.

The moment Haymon ****ed up by using Schaefer as his lackey inside GBP, he would have difficulties finding opponents for his boxers.

Haymon can only get fight dates for only a small amount of his fighters. A lot of fighters on his roster are sitting around getting fat, or is regulated to fighting on Friday night cards. Let's look at this high profile fighters:

Garcia - A disgraceful year with no fights planned.
Broner - Awful year against nobodies. Rumors of suicide and non-rumors of getting fat at the buffet.
Thurman - Another year, another year of no notable wins
Porter - Yeah, he lost, but he should have a fight by now. At least Brook has an excuse.
Quillin - An awful year of doing nothing
Stevenson - From FOTY candidate to becoming irrelevant.
Guerrero - A struggle against an unknown fighter and not much else.
Matthysse - Once an exciting fighter, with no fights planned.

The list goes on and on. Nearly every one of his fights has fought 2 times at most this year. Showtime isn't giving him the dates every since the Golden Boy breakup. He's refusing to match his top fighters against each other in fear of them losing value. And because they're not fighting, they're getting forgotten.

    Hold on!

So you are saying that Danny specifically requested to fight Rod Salka?

So, who else does Danny think he can beat?! :p

I agree...unless that fighter only fights once or twice a year...then no tune up fights are acceptable
