I actually think it's an extremely hard fight for Khan. One in which I actually think Khan could lose.

Khan's arsenal is just not complete enough right now in my opinion, to compete with Bradley.

Bradley's determination is just amazing. He's so freakin' hungry.

The guy is always punching. One thing I noticed, is when Khan was clinching, he'd allow Maidana to keep punching with one hand.

If you notice, notably in the Abregu fight, Abregu would clinch but Bradley wouldn't let him and Bradley would keep punching with intent to knock Abregu out, so that's not a good sign for Khan.

He has a decent inside game. The main thing that I'm majorly concerned about is Bradley's overhand right. We all saw Khan get clocked with Maidana's right hand numerous times.

Bradley throws a deadly overhand. He dropped Witter with, hurt Abregu with it, and I'm sure has hurt others with it.

It's hard. Right now, I see the majority of the advantages towards Bradley, but I never count Khan out, especially with his trainer being Roach.

He HAS to establish the jab and make his height and reach count as much as possible. I see it as an extremely close fight, because Khan tends to fade in the later rounds and only really paws out the jab. Bradley won't respect it in the later rounds and will get inside of Khan.

I'd expect both to start fast. Khan would have to build an early lead on Bradley to have any chance of getting the W. Luckily for Khan, he's a very fast starter.

I'm sure Bradley would be well aware of this and do the exact same though. I'd really expect it to be an exciting fight. Khan would have to learn some inside game and not hold as much.

Fair enough mate. I assumed you were picking Khan after you disagreed with me. I agree with most of your points.

Another factor I'd take into account is Bradley's versatility and adaptability. If you watch 4 or 5 rounds of Timmy you're likely to see him fighting in around 4 or 5 different ways. When he is having a bad round he has the option to adapt to the situation, I don't feel Khan has this. Khan's recent opponents haven't seemed to have anything further than a Plan A... Bradley will have A, B, C, D... etc.

Another factor is Timmy's Holyfield head movement :yep This isn't something I can remember Khan really encountering in previous fights.

I have it Bradley by 3-4 rounds at least with Khan possibly kissing the canvas at some point from one of Bradley's counters.

 

Yeah, I found that out today when watching HBO's Greatest Hits. That was the big plus I was giving Bradley and why I couldn't fully commit to a Bradley UD. Now I'm more convinced than ever.

Glad Ring magazine have announced that this fight will not be for The Ring belt. After the WBC's emeritus nonsense this week, it's good to see some decisions in boxing being made on the grounds of merit and considered judgement.

Not saying it's a cut and dried issue but rightly or wrongly Khan is their #2 (which is what fightnews have him as.) Given Khan has recently beaten another highly rated contender I don't see how they can overlook him. I think this is fair enough and can't see any politics or scandal behind The Ring's decision - unlike the WBC this week. Unless you feel this is favouritism to a GBP fighter?

 

There's no GBP favouritism. Khan beat Maidana in a closish fight and completely dominated Kotelnik. Alexander beat Urango impressively and got shown up a bit by Kotelnik.

Khan's a deserving number 2 - slightly more so than Devon. It would be wrong for Alexander to fight for the lineal title over Khan.
