That tends to be a given when Floyd's involved - new fans think he's the pinnacle of achievement and skills.
Wow, Mr Literal, huh!? I didn't say ONLY new fans, it just tends to be a common trait. They read blogs, etc, proclaiming Floyd's brilliance and haven't yet learned enough about the sport to put him in context. And why should I take what Tony says above what I think? He's just a person like the rest of us. Even the defence of some of Floyd's iffier fights shows up the bizarre lack of discernment involving Mayweather. As Flea says, it's a decent resume, but there are better.
If you can't see the difference between the two fights then you need new eyes. There's also the element that Floyd has significant stylistic advantages over Marquez (not to mention size) including how he made Marquez lead, something he's not great at doing. You can't compare the two directly, but I do believe that Floyd is BETTER than Manny. He's not GREATER though. Very different things.
Do you have problems with reading comprehension? I DIDN'T SAY ALL FANS! I said it TENDS to be a common feature with NEW FANS. The two are very different things. Anyway, I don't "hate" Mayweather, I just treat him by the same standard as everyone else should b treated. He has a good record, an exceptional skill set, and a marked aversion to risks. His dissections of Hatton, Ortiz and Judah rank among my favourite ring performances. The Judah performance in particular is one I show to people interested in learning about the sport. You've fallen into the trap of thinking people being critical are automatically being unfair.
Right well I'm about to go on a date, how about you explain WHAT EXACTLY Floyd has done that is greater than what Manny has. I look forward to this education.
You can pick holes through both records and fights but for me Pac has just fough Money's left overs.... At the lower weights Pac was incredible just don't see any great wins at higher weights and have fun on this "date" :-(
