I doubt they can do numbers only second to Mayweather/Oscar :yep but I do think you're right that they can get higher numbers doing what you said. You're very right about that. I know Marquez won, but looking based off the faceoff and 24/7 it wouldn't convince me if I didn't know other wise. I'll give them credit at showing Marquez train properly this time though :thumbsup
i'd agree with that... they can easily post the numbers up and show Marquez beating Pacquiao stat-wise. Ive recruited in some new boxing bros and been selling this upcoming fight too. We watched Pac/Marquez 1 and saw Marquez out-matching Pacquiao for 3/4 of the fight. I reminded them it was a draw..... BUT, if Pacquiao didnt have those 3 knockdowns in the 1st round, he would have lost by points then. EVEN if he had won the first round, it'd be a 10/9 round instead of a 10/6 round, and still would have lost to a decision! These guys are proven to be so evenly matched (at least at those lighter weight classes - i cant guarantee how Marquez will do at the weight class Pacquiao has been fighting for the past few years, though they're almost the same size) that this fight should be an easy-sell. I believe more than half of the potential casual buyers arent aware of their fight history together, nevermind that both fight decisions were really contentious too... Marquez has proven to Pacquiao's rival and equal in the past
I thought it was entertaining, actually. It didn't necessarily leave me wanting for more though. Neither guy is really captivating (in a reality TV sort of way) on his own. But, it was good to learn something new about the fighters. It was interesting to learn of Marquez's love for cars. He has a nice fleet. And the good works Pac is doing for the people in his province, is commendable. Also, seeing Nacho's work with the up and coming fighters was cool too. I will tune in for the next episode.
jmm got around $2-3M for the floyd fight. jmm would be getting a cool $5M for the pac fight not including the PPV upside and the overweight penalty if pac decides to cheat jmm in the scales ala floyd.
Solid. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's the "truth" per se since the outcomes of those fights are still debatable but the contrasting opinion of several writers is still good information to include and provide additional hype.
Very good points. :good And I agree HBO should put that angle in. There's still the last episode so we'll see.
From what I've seen in the first two episodes, HBO is'nt going to go any further than Marquez thought he was robbed, Pacquiao wants to shut him up angle....... .....its a pity, because if I'm a causual fan that did'nt tune in to see the first two fights, having seen Pacquiao waltz through Mosley in a non-affair, and having waisted my money seeing Mayweather sucker punch Ortiz...... A casual fan is going to think twice before forking over 60+ dollars to see Pacquiao fight a fighter in Marquez who they've seen already clearly beaten by Mayweather Jr. HBO just is'nt driving the point that aside from 2 knockdown rounds, JMM has pretty much owned Pacquiao. There PPV sales are going to suffer for it imo. I dont know if HBO has any plans to air the first two Marquez-Pacquiao fights the week before Nov 12th. I think if they aired those fights, it will interest the casual fan who've never seen them to buy this 3rd installment.
who cares what you said.....but as a JMM fan, you should give props to Manny and Arum for giving JMM another shot at immortality and for a large paycheck that would have taken him 3-5 fights to earn if he had stayed with the other promoter.
Most Floyd fans are blacks and they love watching Floyd's leeches those brainless blacks talking **** and for them it's entertaining cause it reflects their persona. Just like cab drivers loves watching cab drivers makes it in tv, so do are most Floyd fans. :thumbsup
Yea even if they have been waiting years to do it. Because its not like JMM wanted the immediate rematch after the scores were announced. Just shut up dude. We are talking about the episode not arguing about them like *******s and *****s do. This was a great episode. As far as you *****s you guys should probably watch the Real World if you want drama or maybe subsribe to trueTV. However if you want to watch real men preparing for a war then watch this episode.
Thank **** someone said it best. Anyone complaining about it being boring can stick to MTV. The **** do they want? Floyd walking around with his money, NOT showing training, talking about himself all day. No thanks. This is what 24/7 was MEANT for. An inside look into TRAINING. I just find it a bit intense that each sparring partner gets the **** beaten out of them and they just come back like "hey man...nice job! you're on point today."
