So with to competing networks and the stronger promoters be hind them. Are we going to see the "philosophy" of all action fights on HBO where two limited skill guys get in the ring and smack each other around for twelve and on SHO have one really talented guy smack around some bum?

I made the decision to subscribe to Showtime over HBo in December. I'm satisfied with the choice -- more fights with more replays as my schedule doesn't always allow me to see them live and I don't fancy waking up early on Sunday for the one-shot hBo replay.

To me, HbO has been all-hype for two long. Six weeks of "reality TV" buildup for a fight isn't of interest to me. I want to see the actual fights, not guys drinking their own urine or "behind-the-scenes" footage of guys tying their shoelaces.

I would say HBO aka Top Rank has more fighters and fights, and Showtime aka Golden Boy has more boxers and boxing matches in their futures.

They're just trying to shed that rep. SHO seems to be embracing it, they even hired Ross Greenburg for more of that 24/7 magic. But they forgot to hire Liev Schreiber :-(

Any fan taking sides in the HBO/TR vs SHO/GBP is an idiot......Both networks/promotions will be doing their thing in the next couple of months but we're still losing out on a lot of big fights not happening because of the feud.

Well said. The fans that will actually take a side in this split, are pathetic.

It's really no change at all, TR and GBP fighters were not gonna fight anyway. The main change is that SHO is now a 100% GBP house network. They can't help it, GBP has a big and expensive stable to maintain.

It hasn't started yet and e-philosophers are judging and bitching already.

  13. it is quite sad they dont realize the amount of $ they could make if they worked together. if they made fights like gamboa-broner, pac-floyd, just imagine how much money they would be making

That the feud changes nothing in terms of us being able to see some of these big time fights.

To clarify, I'm talking about the HBO/GBP split. Of course boxing would be better off without any feuds

Well yeah I know that because they were working with each other a couple of years ago and we got to see fights like Pac/DLH, Cotto/Mosley, Margarito/Mosley, Pac/Hatton and some others I can't think of right now......If the feud was going on back in 2007-2009 we would have never got to the mentioned fights.
