Does anyone think HBO is kicking themselves in the ass for reserving a spot to show another boring Wlad fight that will surely not bring in new viewers? Wlad is a fine champion, but he's atrocious to watch fight!

It's an absolute shame that they have to replay this joke of a fight.

Seriously, HBO has to be at their wits end with Wlad. Every time he disappoints. He's got all the tools he's just afraid to cut loose. I really don't think this improves Wlads resume. He got the win, buy the way he fought doesn't deserve to be rewarded. JMO.

I think they are contractually obligated once they reserve that spot. I don't know the semantics, but I know they can't be happy.

I used to like to watch Vlad K fight but now he fights too much like Lennox Lewis. But I guess it was still better than Ali being a yoke around Foreman's neck and withstanding body shots until Foreman ran out of gas, or all the paw and posture bouts I watched Holmes fight. The early Tyson era was one of the few times the heavyweight division was actually interesting to watch, but Tyson didn't have much in the way of competition. If you bother getting your hands on old back issues of the Ring Magazine, you'll notice that the heavyweight division has sucked consistently over the course of time since the days when boxing writers no longer feared having heavyweight boxers catch them outside the arena and kick the living **** out of them.

At least Povetkin kept coming instead of diving to the canvas everytime he came into Klitschko's punching range, unlike a supposed "breath of fresh air for the heavyweight division".

This performance will probably make HBO reluctant to broadcast another Wlad fight anytime soon, but HBO blew it with the Klitschkos. They had a marquee marketing opportunity that they didn't know how to capitalize on, in my view. They gave the Klits (Wlad) decent exposure when Lewis' career was winding down, and then they still stuck with him in his rebuilding efforts following the Sanders/Brewster setbacks. They all but jumped ship after the lackluster Ibragimov fight, and that's when I think they missed the boat.

There was surely a missed marketing opportunity here, and I don't think they can correct the damage now, regardless. I was actually surprised they broadcast this fight at all to begin with.

But in not televising the dominant heavyweights of our era on a consistent basis, HBO may have shot themselves in the foot as far as promoting the general welfare of the sport goes.

Didn't vote; subpar polling options that exude personal bias aren't appealing.

This fight wasn't pretty, but it sure as hell wasn't boring

3 knockdowns, 3 takedowns & 2 pushdowns. Both fighters took damage.

The clinching is part of the game and was used to tire out Povetkin in masterful fashion, who should of realized that coming in with your head down wasn't working.

Boring in boxing is when there is no action, when two guys circle each other without engaging, when both fighters come out without a scratch.

I can imagine the BS that was spewed during the HBO broadcast, but on Russian television the commentators applauded the tactics used by Klitschko.
