HBO approves Cotto-Gomez

I am totally bum about this fight...totally...WTF.....greed in boxing is amazing...I am sure that Cotto will get his 2 or 3 mil for this fight and Gomez will ahve the biggest payday of his career...but for all us we are left out wondering what if...

 

Because Mayweather had already taken 2008 off, remeber that. Is it somewhere in your very selective memory.

 

It's not completly Cotto's fault, Floyd have never called out Cotto after the Hatton fight, I blame Cotto and Floyd for this BS fights

I agree with you, Oscar is to blame for this...the real welters should be fighting...everyone wants to see Mayweather/Cotto, in a recent poll taken people answered in the 90% that the fight they want to see is Cotto/Mayweather..but this idiot is throwing money to Floyd to fight him again and who can turn down all that money? Oscar needs to retire from the sport, he is bad for the sport as a boxer..stick to promoting. :fire

 

It's okay for you to use the excuse Mayweather is taking time off and thats why Cotto won't call out Floyd.

As long as it's not on ppv, I'll be fairly eager to see this fight. Sometimes people like me want to see an arsewhooping ala early Tyson, which this is sure to be.

Because Oscar wasen't a champion for only two fights.

Alfonso vs cotto. man 2008 is already lukin crap compared to 2007. i guess 2007 is probably going to be the best year of boxing in my life tym.

cotto should fight some one hu would make him look like an underdog (floyd). he deserves it man that fighter is hard working, humble and fearless and i luv watching him.

i guess alfonso will propably get cotto a slightly easier pay day because America likes him from the contender.

i dont really wanna watch this fight cuz realistically everyone who understands boxing knows that there can be only one obvious winner (cotto).
and dont wanna see alfonso get knocked out, he's a great guy humble hard working, fearless. so he's a baby cotto.

sad turn of events if this Cotto-Gomez comes true...it should be Cotto-DLH in May and then the winner fighting FM in Sept. The other WW (Williams/Cintron/Margarito/Mosley) can all fight in a tournament in 2008 to see who fights the winner of FM/Cotto or DLH in early 2009. That, in my opinion, would be an exciting year in boxing with actual motivation for the fighters to win big. ADVANCEMENT to a bigger fight!!!!! If one of these guys is truly the best, what I propose above would prove it once and for all!
