HBO approves Cotto-Gomez

Why, do you think Cotto deserves a straight shot at FM without facing DLH or any of the other WW that claim they deserve the shot at the p4p king? FM is in a position to say who he will fight...and if he decides to wait and fight the best out there...then that would force Cotto and all the others to fight eachother and prove they are the #1 contender...why would anyone who claims their fighter is the #1 :bbb contender be against the idea of a ROAD that would prove it.??? :deal

 

there is no one at floyds level, cotto is a contender for floyds title who is also the 2nd best in the division, if we put it your way no one is worthy enough to fight floyd so floyd should just retire.

 

everyone (including most floyd fans) were saying the winner of cotto-mosley and the winner of hatton-pbf will need to happen, apart from cotto, mosley is probably the best in the division, there is no bigger win at ww than beating shane mosley for cotto (except for floyd ofcourse)

 

Cotto is undefeated with wins over Torres, Malignaggi, Quintana, Judah, and Mosley. He deserves this shot right NOW and as THE welterweight champion, Mayweather should give his number one challenger an opportunity to face him.

Cotto clearly deserves to fight Floyd more than De La Hoya, more than Hatton did, and more than Williams or Margarito.

 

Yeah I wouldn't be suprised if the fix was in for the last fight too because once DLH started gasing out I though Floyd could have finished him off pretty easily but he didn't. Plus it didn't really seem like either guy was trying too hard. Especially while the other guy was having his good moments.

 

I know the reason...it is called a "Healthy Respect" for what Oscar would do should FM decide to stand still and stop running. Give me a break, did you EVEN watch this fight....hit and run tactics...sorry, slap and run tactics are what kept FM from hitting the canvas. Such onesided views of a fight...FM can do no wrong in his fan's eyes. :-(

Damn you people have selected memory. Cotto and his handlers have never been real interested in fighting Floyd. I'm tired of people criticizing Floyd for not fighting Cotto, but give Cotto a pass on all of the opportunities he had to face Floyd but chose not to pursue. Eze is one of the only one's making sense here. How come Cotto did not pursue a fight with him after Floyd fough Gatti? Maybe it's the same reason Hatton, who was the champ, didn't. Face it, Cotto did not want to face a 28 year old Mayweather and doesn't seem too excited to fight a soon-to-be 31 year old Mayweather. And where the hell did all of this Mosley hype come from? His career was pratically dead after losing twice to both Forrest and Wright, but for some reason, two wins over Vargas (who's career was also virtually dead) makes you one of the top fighters in the sport again. He's 36! Mosley needs to beat someone else at 147 besides Luis Collazo before we consider him a top 3 WW currently.

This gomez fight is ******ed, but the Cotto/Margarito fight is very very interesting, I look forward and hope the fight does happen.

I rather see a Cotto against Margarito than against DLH.

 

This is what happens when you talk **** about golden boy. Arum never had any intentions of any Cotto/floyd/odh ****. He been wanting to promote a his two stable mates to fight each other forever. Back when Cotto just ****ing moved up. Nobodys ducking nobody. Boxing is shitty this year.
