Herrera tries to surprise Mayfield with a jab from an odd angle, sort of leaving his glove meandering off to the side before putting it up, but Mayfield is still quick enough to land his own jab in counter. Herrera slaps at the body while leaning in. Double jabs by Herrera, reaching and missing as Mayfield counters with a chopping right on the back foot.

Mayfield is slamming home with left and right hooks while hunched forward. Herrera takes his lumps well, and leans in to slap at the body. Mayfield dances back out of the way of Herrera's long swipes. Mayfield steps diagonally back and to his left as Herrera advances and lines up a perfect right hand counter to the jaw. Clinch. Mayfield spins Herrera's back to the ropes. Jabs by Mayfield backing up. Herrera gets up his own jab, landing, but missing his right. Left hook by Mayfield.
