No but you do have to pass a certain bar to be good enough to compete on HBO more than a time or two, like a "you must be this height" figure at the circus. In two fights now, the answer is no, he is relegated to kiddie ride status (ESPN maybe, or back to headlining non-televised small hall shows in NY)

Sullivan doesn't hold both his fists up in uppercut motions like old timey boxers. I'm disappointed.

    Round 1

O'Sullivan is stepping through and forcing Douglas to exchange jabs. Hard rights through the guard by O'Sullivan, and some whipping left hooks on the stomach. Douglas is unable to maintain distance, though he's landing the jab well and staying mobile enough to take the edge off most of O'Sullivan's punches. Douglas is parrying off his left forearm, turning his arm over and lifting it after jabbing when O'Sullivan takes his turn. Left hook to the body by Douglas, and O'Sullivan takes advantage of the gap in defense to land a straight right lead up top.

    10-9 O'Sullivan

Those are exceptions. Also pretty sure he started in his mid-late 20's. Besides Hopkins who are all these great boxers?

    Round 1 O'Sullivan 10-9 Close

Douglas did very well landing his one twos and jab, but much of it was caught on Gary's gloves, Spike did the better body work and cleaner shots up top.

If he did that windmilling style where you rotate your fists around each other it would be great.

Um yeah that's pretty much exactly my point. I didn't say he deserves to be thrown in a furnace or anything in the original post you quoted and called excessively harsh. I said he is bound to be thrown back into the small-fish pond, ie not appearing on HBO anymore, deservedly so. It doesn't sound like you even disagree with that, so...?

I seem like one of the few people that actually DO like Saunders.... and I would be rooting for him if he wasnt fighting G, Lemieux, Canelo or Eubank.... but since tonight he is, then Im hoping Lemieux can make a huge statement tonight and get a highlight reel KO. (isnt that weird... how can you 'like' someone, but hope to see them KO'd, shows how desensitized sports can make someone. I probably need to think on that lol. Not that Saunders is the type of favorite fighter I would never want to see stopped, I just usually dont mind him and root for him usually, not like a guy who I am genuinely a 'fan' of or anything, but still. Anyways, I digress)

That all being said I expect Saunders to have way too much skill for Lem tonight. Saunders UD.

Lastly... how the hell does Lem have such trouble making 160. Hes not that big of a guy.... I could understand if he was built like a tank or something.... but honestly, canelo seems waaaay 'tankier' (tankier.... smh), and its not like hes super muscular or anything, and hes short. Im just not understanding why the hell this guy gets so drained at 160. Makes me question his training methods to be honest.

    anyways... War Lemieux.

    what a rambling ass post.
