Well, I have been scoring fights since before your parents met, and I've been following your RBRs since you began them. And I have to say we're generally in agreement, for the most part....perhaps 90 or maybe 95 % of the time.

And while this means you're good, it also means you're wrong 5-10 % of the time.

And this would make it difficult to rank you in the 100th percentile.

Yes, lad, you are ARGUABLY right.

In fact, you could say (without straying outside the bounds of reason) that Saunders ARGUABLY won all 12 rounds.

There are people who say Trout, Lara, Cotto, and GGG all beat Canelo.

There are people who said Canelo would never fight Trout, Lara, GGG, or the rematch.

And some of those same people think GBP paid of Byrd. Now why would anyone in their right mind believe that GBP would pay only one judge off? How much sense does that make to you?

Aside from Jacobs, I wouldn't argue hard against that assessment, either. Which goes to show how diabolically poor MW has been. And how deeply mediocre your body of work is when David Lemieux is the next most substantial thing on it.

Lovely boxing exhibition from Saunders. A nice post-fight interview, too. That's the Billy Joe Saunders I want to see, matter-of-fact but gentlemanly with it. I'll take more of that and less of the yobby charmlessness and gratuitous crudity.

    I will.

He's a sourpuss, couldn't let bygones be bygones or give any credit after saying he was going to send Billy home in an ambulance (or whatever he said).

He isn't even all that heroically tough or courageous, relatively speaking, certainly not as straight-ahead pressure guys go. I've never understood why he's such a favorite of hardcore fans, strikes me as analogous of the awe that many kids would feel for a playground bully.

I never warmed to the guy as a fighting persona.

I'm with you here, i became a believe after i Saw one of his olympic fights at 17/18 years old and he looked slick, he only showed flashes of that talent as a pro...before tonight.

It was probably the same one I saw. He'd actually beaten Cuban Carlos Banteaux (who beat him in the Olympics) in a pre-Olympic tournament a few weeks of maybe a month or two prior to those Olympics.

You do have to admit GBP and Canelo has had skeeeeeeeetchy scores though. Obviously it's an assumption since we don't have cold hard evidence but it does seem that there is an outside influence on the score cards. Lara, Mayweather, GGG all had absolutely RIDICULOUS cards. I had all 3 of these guys beating Canelo, well Mayweather obviously dominated him and got the win. I had Canelo CLEARLY beating Trout and Cotto but the scorecards were so ****ing sketchy. They did a disservice to Canelo by not just judging fairly because the reason people questioned the decision is because the scorecards were absurd. Even Khan/Canelo was sketchy.. I mean what other fighter has had sketchy scorecards like this? I don't even blame Canelo for this, I doubt he has anything at all to do with it, but all signs would point to outside influence. Maybe it's not GBP.

I didn't have Jacobs winning. I think that Canelo had more of a case in beating GG. Canelo looked like he did in the beginning of the fight AFTER the fight.

Fair enough blizzy! Agree to disagree. I thought Jacobs did better. Canelo landed far more telling shots but Jacobs worked every round. 7-5 Jacobs for me and 7-4 GGG against Canelo for me. Had one even round.

I've lost count how many elite fighters the British have now. Truly great times for us. Hope everyone else is getting to see this !

Now we can be sure we're getting the Golovkin/Canelo rematch in may.

Not sure what fight the judge that gave it 117-111 was watching. I could not give Lemieux a single round. Maybe a couple of even rounds, but other than that, Saunders won at least 10.
