Just watched the Garcia/Khan fight again. Oh my. I had difficulty watching the fight what with Lampley and Kellerman practically salivating over Khan's testicles.

The fight was nowhere near as one-sided as they make it sound. I'm very glad that HBO boxing is going to die. Hopefully, in time, it will be reborn with legitimate announcers. Lampley and Merchant need to grab a Handle of Jack Daniels and drive off the Grand Canyon. ****ing horrible hacks

  4. I know, right? Lil Wayne, James Toney and Roger Mayweather would make it more appealing for the less educated population.

I would actually enjoy, only on occasion, listening to broadcasts by various trainers. Roger might not be that good though since you can't understand a word he says. Or at least you would need captions.

Angel Garcia would be hilarious. Floyd Sr would be good too (and you can understand what he says most of the time).

That was my response as well.

"Die so it can be reborn?" What the **** is this, part of the plot of some fantasy novel or anime series? Christ...

Huh? Scrapping shitty products/services and rebuilding or "going back to the drawing board" is a common business model. HBO boxing is taking a hit because they lost contemporary superstars, but their

They just did that, went back to the drawing board. This is the new beginning for them. To be optimistic, Hershman is bringing the old SHO spirit to HBO, featuring fights and not fighters. The stale HBO thing moved over to SHO, they'll be working with a single promoter lol. And SHO just hired Ross Greenburg, who's the guy that signed the bad GBP output deal for HBO.

HBO's announcing teams play favorites, but so does the Showtime announcing teams. HBO boxing is taking a hit primarily because they are losing some stars and don't consistently make good BAD cards or good PPV undercards. A lot of that stems from the Top Rank vs Golden Boy feud though.

They're not really losing many guys: Broner, Hopkins, Thurman. The rest of the guys are on showtime already.

Floyd's a pretty big loss even if it's only going to be for a few fights. But losing Floyd means other fighters might follow in his steps... namely Broner, who's likely to be a star for years to come.

Only key player (to my knowledge) that HBO still has is Ward and he's not very popular, right or wrong
