So after last night, who's job at HBO will Hopkins be getting? RJJ or Ward are the only realistic choices and quite frankly: Hopkins would be an improvement upon either. Or do many of you feel Hopkins is not being considered?
Hopkins stutters too much for me and missed a lot of punches and misses calling the opposite of what actually happened. He's a genius no doubt but I'd take Ward as a broadcaster any day over him.
Bhop is a waaaay better commentator than RJJ IMO there were a few moments last night where Bhop wasn't saying much and a couple long silences, but when he did offer something it was really insightful
I wouldn't want to see Hopkins as a commentator. He'd try too hard to be controversial and say something inflammatory... on a regular basis.
As much as I dislike Hopkins in a lot of other ways, he did pretty good. Was very fair to all fighters. Didn't even show bias in Cunningham vs. Glazkov
Seemed to work out well for Charles Barklay. In addition: If Ward ever jumps to Showtime, surely HBO will no longer employ him.
